That's What She Said

I saw a dermatologist today. The spot I wanted him to look at turned out to be nothing, but he found several "pre-cancerous" spots on my decollatage and face. He treated all the spots with that liquid nitrogen stuff, then told me the spots would likely blister and peel off. Well, OK.

Unfortunately I had planned to go vote in the primary runoffs after the doctor, so I drove over to the polling place. I walked in and noticed that everyone I interacted with was trying not to stare at my face. 👺 When I got home I checked myself in the mirror and was horrified to see that I look like a late-stage leprosy victim. Those poll workers are probably washing their hands right now and wondering if I'm the latest pandemic.
Reminded me of a group of patients with different appearance-changing conditions on a talk show - Tourette's, Vitiligo, Alopecia, etc.
One guy with Vitilligo on his hands was paying for his lunch at a fast-food place & the cashier was afraid to touch his money, fearing it was contagious. After several tries, the customer took the cashier's hands in his hands, dropped the money into his palms, smiled & said,
"Now we both have it." 🤣 🤣

Yesterday our youngest son and DIL came by and spent a few hours with us. I was able to pawn off 3 more Aerogardens and an Aerogarden shelf unit to hold them, so woohoo. I also gave them a Miele canister vacuum cleaner that I bought last year and have only used twice.

I found that I really don't like a canister vac and this one was too expensive to take to Goodwill, so I'm glad they can use it. I'm still using an old upright vacuum or the robot vac most of the time.

We are going to our oldest daughter's for Father's Day weekend, leaving on Friday. It's about a 6 hour drive and I am dreading it so much. I know I will get cramps from sitting so long and I will be miserable. We just feel terrible that she has been in her brand-new home for well over a year and we haven't been to see it yet.

She told me that she has planned an afternoon of sailing on the lake on Saturday as a surprise for her dad. Something else I will hate, haha. It's some kind of excursion boat that takes a lot of people so I'll be trapped in a social setting in the middle of a lake for several hours. I'll probably need to be sedated.

I have a Miele canister vacuum cleaner too. Every time I give it a pull to move it along, it flips on its side or on its back like a damn turtle. I bought it several years ago because it was supposed to be light weight.

Oh girl, I don't envy your long drive or being stuck out in the heat on the lake. :( The things a person does for family.

I rehomed all but one beast of a vacuum. Max, the no cord handheld/stick is perfect. One charge lasts through three rooms and it handles cat floof. Three Dyson died over it. Don’t let Turtle mess with you.

Drives can be done with breaks and invitations can be declined nicely or firmly.

We had a really nice weekend for Father's Day. We stayed at our daughter's new home on the lake at Runaway Bay north of Fort Worth. It was a long drive and traffic was pretty bad but we enjoyed the visit. Daughter had chartered a sailboat cruise on the lake for her dad's "surprise" and it was really fun.

Today I have been doing laundry, dropping off stuff at UPS and Goodwill, and then went through a manual car wash (where you put quarters in and use the high-power wand thing). Came home and dried the car off and came inside to cool off; it is really hot and humid outside.

At UPS, the parking lot was really full so I dropped the husband off at the door with the package and then circled the lot while he went inside. When I saw him walk out, I started driving to pick him up and I watched him trying to get into some stranger's gray Hyundai. :ROFLMAO: I'm wondering if I should be concerned since I drive a red Honda..??? What the?? I guess it's time to quit trading cars when the hubby doesn't recognize what we own.
