Shopping--What did you buy?

I ordered twin size quilt a few days ago from Land’s End. It's very nice and good quality too. The twin size makes a nice extra blanket. My husband gets colder at night than I do, and I don’t want to be covered up with a pile of blankets like he does. A twin size fits the bill for his usage.

It was on sale for $70.00. Normal price was $234.-$284. 😲 It must have been a one day, one hour, or 30 minute sale for that price because it is now "on sale" for $164.00. I notice that Land’s End does this sort of thing a lot. So does Amazon. Now you see it, now you don't.

I ordered a new Black and Decker oven back on 9/21/25 ad of 1/23/26 it stopped completely. Bummer - my other one lasted 5 years also Black and Decker. Short version.. have been trying since 1/24 to get e replacement from the, as it is under warranty for 2 years. I had to take pictures of the oven, the cord showing a number, invoice, back of box and something else. They claim the files to big and they see nothing.. however having sent same pic to others email..no problem. So they decided I could just send them pic of the cord being cut into two pieces. Sigh... that twas done Sat. as of today sent another email and told them to update me as I need another stove. This best end soon, or I will just buy another one and different brand.
.Is it me or was this request from them a tad much?

That "File size too large" thing is a little infuriating. Nothing lasts like it used to, and they try to get you to give up on the warranty replacement. All these businesses spending tons on advertising and marketing to lure customers in, then screw them to keep a buck in their pocket. I wonder if they have a Facebook page you can post your experience on. That will get some action...or it will get you a bunch of "I want my first born child to marry Black & Decker, I love them so much" replies.

A few years ago I had a warranty claim on a coffee maker. They had me cut the cord off and mail it to them before they sent a replacement machine. I don't recall what brand it was.

I ordered two patio umbrellas for the pool deck. The old ones are getting shabby and one has a hole in it. I noticed a little bird going into the folded umbrella through the hole so I went out and opened the umbrella; I don't want him building a nest in there that will be tossed in the trash in a week or so.

Could be worse. I had a problem years back where bees wanted to cluster and swarm up in mine. I opened it and whoosh, they all fell upon me.

The last thing I bought was a pair of shoes from Amazon. I threw away a pair of shoes the other day, so it seemed only fair that I buy another pair. I looked at the ad for these shoes, and everyone in it was young and fit, so I figured these shoes are going to make me young and fit. There's probably a reason why they don't use advertising models who look old and damned near dead.

Those look like nice shoes. As for models, I notice recently that the home shopping TV channels are using more "normal" people as clothing models. I told my husband if I wanted to see a frumpy woman in stretch pants I'd look in the mirror. I think people want to imagine those pants making them miraculously more attractive if they part with their money.

In other somewhat related news, my son bought my husband a pair of shoes called "Hey Dudes." I had no idea those are a thing. Anyway, I thought "oh, he'll NEVER wear those" but he fooled me and wears them all the time. https://www.heydude.com/products/wally-stretch-sox-bone-brown-multi

I am not buying apparel online ,the sneakers I got online are the next worst thing to wooden shoes!

Please do not knock wooden shoes. I own nice LLBean ankle breaker clogs. In the day we had solid wooden clogs for stable work.

My closet has the very basics only as I called a friend to come and get whatever fit her or her daughter. Amazon has been my friend. Buffalo jeans for $16 where do I get that?

First I thought 'Why would they want that?' But I guess it saves shipping a little and proves that it really does not work and you just didn't want another free one.

I bought some Girl Scout Cookies from a young friends daughter... on line. I hit the "donate cookies" tab because I didn't really want any cookies. If you donate the cookies, I think the cookies will be given to the senior center or veterans, or somebody.🤷‍♀️
