Shopping--What did you buy?

Since we no longer have a regular cook stove, and I can’t use the induction plate for cooking, I have been using small electric appliances to cook whatever meal I am making, either for myself, or for Bobby and I .
I like ramen noodles with lots of veggies, and i also like hot oatmeal on cold mornings, but I don’t have anything that works really well to cook either one and then be able to put it in a dish or bowl to eat it.

I have been browsing the small electric hot pots and finally ordered one today. it will be fine for just heating up hot water for a cup of tea, making noodles, steaming veggies, and for hot oatmeal breakfasts. It does not show in this picture, but there is a steamer basket that fits on the top for steaming the vegetables if you do not want to cook them with the noodles. Oh…. It does show, it has the corn in the steamer.
i used some of my survey gift card and that cut down on the price, too.

Yesterday, my sister and her friend were down on a whirlwind visit and they wanted to hit some thrift shops. I'm always up for that and off we went.

I bought a $10 lamp and a brand new pair of shoes for $5. Sis didn't buy anything and her friend bought some t-shirts.

They took off to visit other people and I headed home. I saw a garage sale still going on just around the corner from my house. Went wild! I got seven really nice tops, two pairs of shorts, two pairs of jeans, two pairs of pajama pants, a big bag of beautiful sequined material (I have no idea what I'm going to do with it, but I HAD to have it), a gorgeous vintage crochet dresser scarf (once again, not sure what I'm going to do with it, but....), a really nice thermal cup, some kids' games, and a couple of other bibelots and when I asked her how much I owed her, she said, "Gimme $10 and get it out of my sight!"

I said, surely I owed her more and she said, no, in 5 minutes it's all going to be dragged into the garage and Monday morning it's being picked up, so she was happy with $10. I swear, I broke a fingernail getting the $10 out of my wallet.

The universal requirements thing isn't new. That has been around almost as long as the Internet has been publicly available. (Since about 1990 or so.) What is new is that some websites tell you about them now.
Azel it is new to me, I still don't know what it is. I hope I'm not messing up unaware.

A bot is just a small program designed to collect data. By using an Internet Persona (a fake name, address, phone number, etc.) it doesn't matter if it collects your data. Look at me for example. In days gone by I was a little more cautious. I had a family with youngin's to worry about. The closest thing to "the real me" was when I wrote where I lived (Weedpatch, California) and Retired Hippie Guitar Player as my occupation. Because that is what I am. I had no idea there really was such a place called Weedpatch. I live 10 miles north of there now.

Does that tell anyone anything? Nope. There has to be millions of Retired Hippie Guitar Players in the world. But since my kids are adults now (or at least they are of legal age now), Cindy's gone, it's just me and my youngest son, and as of today I am now 5 days away from 70, so I care less about privacy than I used to. You could do nothing about bots and still be fine. But I always recommend an Internet Persona if you want to guard your privacy on any of what I refer to as Anti-Social Media. Since I set up my account on the PC Pitstop message board in 1998 (that was back in their pre-forum days), my Internet Persona has remained pretty much the same.

Does that help you?

So do you have Apps on your phone? I used to do contracts, so I actually read those User Agreements...then I walk away from it.

Yeah, and my Internet Persona is the whole banana there. I use my fake name, fake email, fake address (complete with a correct zip code for the town), phone number, etc. But all I use my phone for is phone calls. I can't see well enough to use it for much else. But in addition to that, it's a T-Mobile phone, and it is a piece of junk. But my daughter gave it to me and she pays the bill. So I don't complain about it. Very much... :ROFLMAO:

And I never read EULAs. Because "I" didn't agree to anything. Besides, if they want my first born, he might have something to say about it. He is a 52 year old Army Colonel in the Corps of Engineers.

Edit: There I go again.

My noodle cooker just got here, I tried heating up some water for a cup of hot tea, and it heats up really FAST ! I think it will be just the right size for heating up food, making ramen noodles or soup, and cooking oatmeal in the mornings.
It is much easier to use than the little electric skillet as far as getting food back out, since it has the handle and I can pour stuff out easily.
I think this is going to be something I can use a lot.

I walked through Kohl's and found nothing. Not a thing!

Kohl's has gone down the crapper too. I can't find anything in there anymore either. The Kohl's in my area has cut the store in half. They walled off half of the store and the other have is Planet Fitness.

It is a convenient stop for me. I know quite a few of the staff there. The website has some nicer stuff plus I am a big supporter of Cuddle Duds winter wear.
Shopping is turning into a challenge. I need Western boots. SO took me to every store selling boots in Oklahoma City and the surrounding towns. A day trip with no success. My high arches make it impossible to slide into a boot. So it will be barn mucker books aka lace ups or custom made. His Sting Ray Tecovas look sharp!

Since we mostly order all of our groceries online for delivery, I have ordered one of the little carts that we can use to bring the groceries inside. It will be fine even when we make our Kroger trips, and it should make unloading the bags easier, too. Instead of cluttering up the counter with the bags of groceries, I can take them out of the little wagon one at a time and put things away, and not have it all over on the counter to where I have no room to unload everything.
It will work fine in the summertime for little gardening projects, too.

I hate upheaval in my life, no matter how small. 😜

It hasn't been that many years since I bought a 32 inch TV for the bedroom. I now find that I seldom watch TV/movies anywhere else though, and my vision is beginning to let me down. Text and menus on the TV just seem to be getting smaller now, and I decided to do something.

Found a great price on a modest 2025 43 inch TV. In many ways quite similar to my current one, but of course it'll need more space and there is all of the mess of setting it up. Blu0ray player to plug in, power to route, displaed stuff that used to be beside the TV like a clock/radio need to be moved. And today these things need setup for Internet access, accounts, etc.

FedEx dropped it off, and I have it inside "thawing" as I procrastinate. Easier to fiddle with in the light of day, but that doesn't mean I'll get right on it! :ROFLMAO: Maybe tomorrow? We'll see.

I still need to decide what to do with the 32" model. Sadly nobody seems to want it. "Too small, too old." Boy, people sure are picky about free stuff!

Maybe I'll try using it as my computer monitor. I just checked, and my current video card in my ancient PC (bought in 2007) does have an HDMI port, so I should be golden.
