Roll Call

Was Ruby …the same lady on another forum called Radish rose .? She was a nice lady I’d met her when I joined that other one in 2014
She has just passed as well , she had dear little dog

@Lois E. Winters
Sorry to hear you had a fall Lois …. take care ..🤗🤗I worked with assisting older people and those with disabilities for 25 years and it was drummed into my head about loose mats / power cords as they can and do cause people to fall …..and you know what now I’m 80 ….I'm still very strict around my own home about loose mats ….and my hubby always makes sure there are no cords to trip on
Yes, Ruby was Radish Rose. Such a sweetheart. I believe her son took her dog when she moved to assisted living.

She adored her young great grand son ….i was also on a very small forum for about 6 months with her , a long time ago ….I always liked her

I wasn’t aware she was sick or needing assistance ,her family was always there for her

I had been exchanging PMs with her till about 2 weeks ago and I never knew she was having health issues. If I asked how she was doing, she always said "fine!" She was always so upbeat and kind, just a genuine person. I feel like I lost a friend.

Ruby was always one of those who did not complain nor whine about so much as a headache. She pm'ed me once to let me know she was always there for me when I had a problem with someone on another forum, which led me to leave it. What a lovely lady she was and when I was talked into returning to that other forum by the owner about a year and 1/2 later, she was delighted at my return. There is no doubt that she will be sorely missed by one and all.

I don't remember Ruby, Jake said he does.

I'll be moving some of the off-topic stuff (including mine) our of here tomorrow; today's the last day of my pay week.

Maybe Ken knows more about that ?
I think it goes through iCloud, but that is optional. Mine is set to sync automatically, so when I take a photo with my phone, within a few seconds, it is also on my iPad.
I don’t think it goes out on the internet, just from one device to the others. If there is an Apple Store near you, they can explain everything about how the MacBook and the phone connect.
When I get a chance, I'll be removing the off-topic tech stuff from this thread, but in the meantime...

When I first got an iPhone, I didn't intend to use it for anything other than phone calls and texting, so I didn't want to synchronize it to my Mac computers. Later, when I did want to access stuff from time to time and wanted my Safari passwords saved, I decided to synchronize it.

Not overly familiar with the iPhone, I screwed something up and, before I knew it, all of my photos on either of my Mac devices had been duplicated on my iPhone, and my iPhone was out of space. I didn't want that. I only wanted the photos that I took on the iPhone to be on the iPhone, and I certainly didn't want my computers and my iPhone to be near-duplicate images of one another. Whenever I deleted photos from my iPhone, they would automatically reappear.

My wife helped me sort that out, although it involved hours of deleting crap I didn't need from the iPhone. Now my Safari passwords are saved when I open Safari on my iPhone, so I can access the forum, Amazon, etc.

However, I don't fully understand it, so I won't be able to help beyond saying that it can be done.

Apple support could probably help. Other options might be the official Apple Support Community, which I haven't used myself, or the MacRumors forum, which I have used. If you search, you might find that someone else has already asked the question. Otherwise, someone might get snarky, since there are always people who hang around only to insult people who don't already have all the answers, but someone else will probably come up with a solution.

Ken ….i wasn’t certain where to to post my expericence with Apple devices

We’ve had Apple devices since the first iPad Air was released in 2013 , their after sales service / help has always been 100% even if your device has ran out of warranty they will still assist you with what ever ….you've got options .. ( on apples site ) …..go to help ….

pick your device …brief description of issues/ arrange a call / chat at a time that suits you …to easy ….

And with your permission …..they can get into your device and look for issues …while you are chatting to,them ….I’ve done that once ….
I’ve only ever contacted them prob 3 times …

When I bought my iPad I’m using now …about 5 years ago , I wanted to transfer all the content from the old one …but I’d set it up encrypted ..dam …I couldn’t find my password for that setting ..,.so I contacted them and had a lady call me from Canada ….remember I’m in Aussie land , we spoke for almost 2 hours trying to get around the issue if the encryption …nah it’s impossible …so she advised me to set it up,all over again ….

then I realised I’d written the password up under ….some thing not even related to Apple ….phew …
..easy …it transferred to this device as quick as a wink ….
