Just More of Ken's Nonsense

That was for dramatic effect. :D
One last personal note on magnesium and cramps. If I get cramps at nite a spoon of mustard will get rid of them immediately although I do take a bit more magnesium then. But I have found that if I sleep too soundly with one leg on another or one raised too high, the cramp may be from lack of circulation which makes me think of periferal artery disease.

Apologies for cluttering Ken's diary with cramp discussion, but I don't have nighttime muscle cramps. I had a weird cramp in the arch of my foot after wearing different sandals but that was a one-off and I just stood up and walked it off. :giggle: I hope you don't have PAD, Mary!

I still have occasional chemo/radiation related cramping across my upper torso but that is an entirely different ballgame. I take magnesium but it does not touch the chemo cramps, and neither does mustard, pickle juice, etc. Those cramps are from hell and take my breath away, causing me to ugly cry like a toddler.

I only mentioned the foot cramp in response to Ken's "stretching caused a weird pain" post. :D These random old-people pains are annoying.

Sorry for the OT stuff, @Ken Anderson .

It's ok. Ken is old too.

I've never noticed much of a homeless problem here in Millinocket. A few years back, we had a few drug addicted individuals living in the wooded area that is now a normal part of my walk, known, for some reason, as the Monkey Trails, but they've been gone for at least a couple of years. However, this summer, I have been seeing people walking by pushing wagons, of the sort that children used to play with, with stuff in them (I haven't looked closely enough to see what, but it looked like there was a fan of some sort in one. There is one woman who looks, shall we say, down on her luck, who walks by with her wagon of stuff, sometimes empty, sometimes with stuff in it, and then there is a couple, who probably aren't chamber of commerce members, who go by separate from the other woman. Well aware that I might look homeless at times, when I am on a walk, I'd say they look homeless.

3.1 miles - a night hike. The green areas are wooded areas or parkland, and unless I am planning a particularly long hike, I arrange my hikes to go through wooded areas wherever possible because it's boring to walk along a sidewalk. Millinocket has a lot of wooded areas in town, and the town itself is surrounded by wooded areas, although some of them aren't easily walkable. Some are maintained walking trails, which are relatively easy, although there may still be a lot of roots and rocks; others are ATV or snowmobile trails, and some of the areas I walk on are animal trails. At times, I just barge through the brush when I have reason to believe that I will come across a trail, or maybe it looks like a trail when I started, and I have that masculine dislike of going back the way I came. I often regret those, largely because I will tend to get wet, bitten by mosquitoes and black flies. This particular walk was all in areas that I am familiar with, however.
