How's the Weather Where You Are?

Oh pooh! That's celcius. ;)
It is the "miserable cold" that I talked about. Wet, windy cold is miserable, plus a lot of the houses in the UK (from what I have been told) do not have the heating systems that most American and Canadian houses have. Some places on the North American Northeast coast have a similar climate, as do the Aleutians here in Alaska. She claims there is no place colder, but she apparently has not been any place colder. I may have mentioned the woman I worked with in the bush who claimed Alaska couldn't be any worse than northern Ohio. She found out differently very soon.

Humidity can make both warm weather and cold weather feel worse, and both can feel miserable, especially to those not used to it or not having appropriate clothing.

I took a shower before going to the barn this morning. I told my daughter, before the car heater warmed up, that it was a mistake to wash off all of my protective dirt.

+16 F. this morning due largely to the wind. It is the warmest night in a while and is supposed to get near freezing tomorrow. If it does hit freezing, it will be the warmest day this year and perhaps the snow will start to melt...then the mud starts with slush. Ironically, spring is my wife's least favorite season here due to the mess. Wildfire season is my least favorite season and it follows the drying of the mud.

It is 84 degrees. A sunny warm day today with low humidity with a light breeze. I have been going in and out of the house today to sit on the porch to feel the sun and light breeze blow across my face. It's delightful! It’s a lovely type of warm that I could just about lie down on the warm porch and stretch out like a big sleeping cat. :D

It was close to 80° yesterday, it is supposed to hit 83° today. There is humidity, because my head was sweating by the time I got back up from the barn this morning. However, never fear as it will be down into the 60s Monday and Tuesday. That is more normal temperature for my area and I like it much better, because working outside is a lot less sweatier.

I said all this to say I can’t believe I had to pull a barrel fan out, clean it up and run it. My Dutch Warm Blood loves that fan as can be seen by this photo. As soon as he saw me pull the fan out, he put his head over the alleyway gate.

This was yesterday and I know he’s doing the same thing this morning. He will be there most of the day. When it’s really hot I don’t even have to put a halter on him to shower him. I just turn the water hose on with the showerhead, he walks right into it and will put himself where he wants the water to hit him.

That black blob above the Arab is where I had to block the sun out in the picture.

In the teens F. all night again. The weather lady on TV said she thought the temperatures had turned. The snow may begin to melt by the end of the week. High around freezing is predicted for much of the week, but not necessarily above.
