How's the Weather Where You Are?

Finally we are getting the cold weather that we must have.... Very important that we get it and soon..
Tonight it will be -32c as a temperature and about -38c as a windchill.. Tomorrow and for the next days it will be in the -25c range during the daytime and -30c at night..... HURRAY!!! ....... Finally we get the cold spell..
That should freeze our lakes with enough thick ice for fishing tournaments which brings $$$ into our village..

Our ice is plenty thick--probably 3 feet or so--but people still find ways to fall through. Two cars have fallen through the ice on a local lake. My son, who is something of an authority on such, said the cars fell through in nearly the same spot--a channel connecting two lakes with springs underneath. There is a ramp built around the thin spots, but the inexperienced choose to drive over the thin ice. If they stay on the road, everything is fine as there is a road marked on the ice, but we have so little snow that is looks like you can drive anywhere. New people who move here form the South due to military transfers are so fascinated by the idea of driving on the lakes that they get careless.

It has finally gotten cold here: -30 F. I have mentioned before that I find -30 to be the temperature where it begins to get difficult to breathe without a face covering. It is predicted to be still colder tonight.

+7 F this morning...relatively balmy! 5+ inches of snow yesterday and 7+ inches overnight. Still having tractor snowblower trouble. It is in the garage thawing out.

Above freezing for the first time in over a month. 34 F. and raining. How delightful. Our several feet of snow was so pretty, and now...who knows. Temp is supposed to go back down tonight and still further over the weekend. Weather folks say that things will return to "normal" whatever that is by the 18th of January.

WOW ! ! That is awesome, Beth ! We are still freezing here in Alabama, so I hope some of that warm air works its way over to us. It looks like the next 10 day forecast for here is not much different than what we have been having so far.
The three Kitties have been sitting in front of Bobby’s propane heater when he is outside on the porch and they are outside with him, but they are mostly inside now, too.

We are a little cooler today (mid 70's) and looking at cooler for the next several days.

46° outside now, 10:30p PDT. Our high today was 63°. Warm, for a winter day around here. I am not looking forward to the heat that is coming in just a few months to Kern County.

When we first arrived here, after 100° plus days all summer, when fall came we laughed at people dressing for winter weather that was typical summer weather in Eureka... People would see me in shorts and t-shirts and they would ask me "Aren't you cold?" I was like "Nope, this is like a typical summer day for me." Now at 60° I'm cold too.

Typical winter day up here....... Daytime temperatures are around the -15c to -20c...
Nighttime around the -25c to -30c...
Snow coming tomorrow, about 25cms is expected..
