The only time I was offered a senior discount was at mcdonalds by a woman who was my age. She apologized as she was offering it. I was well past the qualifying age before I swallowed my pride and started asking for it.

Recently I was interrogated at Denny's for ordering off the 55 and over seniors menu. The same country fried steak as on the regular menu, but $5 cheaper. I am not a skinflint, but neither am I an over spender. I always tip the waitress, 10% plus the extra $5 I saved.

The new waitress tells me I have to be 55 to order off it, so I pull out my drivers license and show her the hard cold facts, I am in my 76th year riding this old rock around the sun. She says it must be my glasses that threw her off, after all most seniors don't wear the latest fashion frames, especially those made in Paris. I said well if you think my Paris made glasses are hip, you should see my bra made in the USA.

I start to act like I am going to unzip my top and both of the ladies with me said, "NO!" in unison. My friends then told the waitress to never be fooled by Faye's fashion glasses, her hooker level makeup, or her, lift and make em perky, sports bra. I mean the first time in a long time, I put on a bit of mascara, brow color, and light eye shadow and wear a super supportive bra, I am accused of trying to rip off senior benefits and looking like a women of poor reputation. Some days it just doesn't pay to "spruce" up.

Cool. Try going to a different thread and then come back to see if the pic stays. Someone else had that issue, and had to link to Imgur a different way.

I don't have an account. So far none of my free hosted pics have disappeared from forums, but without an account, I can't go back to Imgur and hook for them there to be sure.
 
If it means anything, I have been to different threads, logged out of this account, and into the admin account, and the image still shows.

What’s imgur …dah ….remember “I live out in the sticks” ….meaning when you live in a country area ..rather than a city

You don't have to sign up, kate. I upload copies of my "for the forum" pics there and link to them from here, to save our storage space. I do not have an account with Imgur...you can just use it without an account. That being said, i would not save my only copies of stuff on any free image site because sometimes the sites transition to Pay Only...then your pics are held hostage. I only use an image hosting site as an intermediate spot for forum pics.
 
Promote your threads. If you start a topic, try to keep it going. Sometimes threads run their course, particularly with our current small member size, as everyone has had their say, but can be revived later as new members join us if you post in it, bringing it to the top again. Besides, we're old, and we will have probably forgotten that we'd already had our say.
