@Yvonne Smith That CEO was also head of Starbuck's. I did a cursory search to see if she was the one who implemented that program where you were encouraged to discuss heady issues (race, world peace, which way to hang toilet paper) with a barista, but I couldn't find anything.
@Mary Stetler I've never had a Cracker Barrel anywhere near where I lived or worked, so it's never been on my radar screen. I think I ate at one up in northern Virginia once, and then when I gave a neighbor a ride to a doctor appointment outside the state capitol and he bought me lunch. The fried chicken was good and reasonably priced. But things I read elsewhere says the food quality had gone downhill, and as you said, some menu favorites have disappeared.
