I think I ate at one up in northern Virginia once, and then when I gave a neighbor a ride to a doctor appointment outside the state capitol and he bought me lunch. The fried chicken was good and reasonably priced. But things I read elsewhere says the food quality had gone downhill, and as you said, some menu favorites have disappeared.

The last time we went to the nearest CB it had just been sold and it was a bit before the CEO bruhaha. I didn't know if it was the new owners or what but several of our favorites were no longer on the menu and the gift shop had items that seemed to be from Temu. We were never going back if the interior was changed. Might give it a try again.
I definitely don't like Taco Bell food anymore.

The breakfast menu is definitely trimmed down. They still have the hashbrown casserole, though!! I was somewhat surprised that breakfast for 2 was just over $40 with coffee and orange juice. Seems like about double what it used to be. After tipping the waitress we spent over $50 for breakfast food.

Well if rumors of the updated decor did not thin out the customers, that price sure will. Many years ago we had a CB open here in town but as our town was made up of the cheapest people on the planet, it closed rather quickly. We are more cosmopolitan now so it would have made it today as it was back then but maybe not as it is now.

My lady friend loved CB and the gift shop. We would stop at the one on the way home from her PCP appointments. To me it was just okay, but it made her day, so we always stopped. I will try to take her again if her health permits.

Do you see a Nephrologist regularly? One of my friends has problem with kidneys due to electrolyte imbalance. Doc took her off one blood pressure meds and used another drug that helped her kidney electrolytes and that resulted in maintaining a normal range blood pressure.

I have never seen a nephrologist. My numbers are all "borderline" but nothing critical. My kidney function got worse after chemo and never really recovered.

My PCP doesn't want to change my BP meds because I finally have a combination that works on my BP. I take Lisinopril that does cause some higher blood potassium but I have taken it for over 20 years.

I get lectured on my "pre-diabetic" A1C of 5,7, but it started out over 6.0 when the test was first rolled out, and it's been 5.7 for decades. I've begun to wonder if that's why I drink so much water, but I've been a big water drinker my entire life and my other numbers are OK (although blood sugar is at the top of the Normal range.) Both my GP and the nephrologist I saw know I pass 4 liters a day, and neither mentioned diabetes.

It's always something.

I'm also a big water drinker. My eGFR has been steady for the past few years since I had chemo and it dropped. My latest concern is the high potassium in my blood and no apparent cause for it. I've been pre-diabetic 5.4-5.6 for 20 years so I've quit caring about that. It's always something.

1. Clipped the 13 yr old dog’s toenails —- he thought his world was coming to an end. He’s the worst dog drama queen that has ever lived with me.

2. Anxiously awaiting for this state’s primarys to end. I am so sick of all the negative ads AND some of the crooked-as-a-dog’s-hind-leg morons running for office —- on BOTH sides. These a-s-s-e-s make the personal injury attorney ads look good. But they will probably win because “he who has the most money always wins”

At least after tomorrow, I should only have to put up with one from each side and hopefully the mute button on my remote won’t burn out.

3. Horse and cattle horse thieving is on the upswing in Tennessee. The news media had two segments about it. Two 20-something girls were caught selling one of two horses they stole on Facebook. No mention of the other horse so it’s ending probably wasn’t a good one.

4. Even though our current governor says it is premature, he is in talks for a fifty BILLION dollar project to store nuclear waste. What happened to the alleged never ending storage under the mountains out west? That’s probably what Skinwalker Ranch is poking around at, and nobody’s saying anything.

Where it makes sense to me, to put it, is up in Oak Ridge where the nuclear bomb was invented. Where Roane County had a serious coal ash spill 15 or so years ago.

5. Edited to add that Nashville City Council voted to invoke eminent domain on the 23 acres next to the Nashville Zoo that DC Bloc wants to build a big data center on. DC Bloc already bought the property but over 500,000 people have signed a petition to keep it away from the zoo , not only due to noise disturbances but how much water and electricity it will use.

The best thing I ever did was get one of those dog nail grinders for clipping Marco Poodle’s toenails . It never cuts too deep, like toenail clippers do, and he has learned that it does not ever hurt him, and he gets bologna afterwards.
Not only that, I use the grinder to trim my toenails now, too !
I can’t see my toenail like I used to or bend around to clip them either. The grinder just buzzes off the toenails and never pinches my toes like I do with my toenail clippers.

Today we went to the dance this morning ,it starts at about 10 am finishes at 12.20 or there about, after we got back to where we are staying we took the little dog for a walk around the Patawalonga, about a 2.7 km walk
Got back cooked our usual early evening meal , potato chips and carrots ( both cut up fresh and cooked in my newish little mini airfryer )

Good morning to all- Well, let's see... So far today...

I vacuumed the house after breakfast- usual duty. then I fed GrayTom- he's the outside cat. And I took feed out back to chickens. then I rolled out the big field trimmer and put down a lot of rank grass in the garden- getting ready for fall/winter planting. After that, I used my mini-chain saw to cut down some overgrown elderberry bushes/trees on the back fence- will get Son #2 to help me drag the cut stuff to burn pile this weekend. then I tried to re-fill the wheel tire on my wheel barrow- no good- got to go to town to get a new wheel.tire. When I get back, I'll re-mount the wheel barrow tire and I'll be back in business.

It's 8:18 in the morning...

Buy a solid tire for your wheel barrow. You won’t regret the extra cost because you will neve4 again have to worry about replacing that tire —- unless you take a sledgehammer to it or run over it with the tractor

I’ll probably get in a good hour or so workout and maybe even haul another load of things out to the side of the road that were saved for some imaginary uses but weren’t.

I spent most of the early morning trying to get back on the Forum after weird l something locking me out on me yesterday.
Thank you John, Ken and whoever else helped. In the meantime, hubby trying to make a iron gate we bought from Walmart fit the archway from living room to front door. This is to keep Sophie,however she is still tiny and can slip thru easy. So he's trying to find ways to stop that.
