What Are You Doing Today?

Thank you Krystal for the help. I was kinda joking about street drugs, imagine being in jail on top of this for buying illegal narcotics.
Most of my friend's and family smoked pot in the 60s,70s.I never did like the way it made me feel. Although it may be a good idea to try it, I never thought about but as you say it is legal here.
My wife and SIL both use it, and there are several different kinds. There's a type for sleep, pain relief, anxiety, etc.

I had no idea there way such a wide array, specifically designed for different needs, and in different forms, as well.

My SIL has this nighttime oil that just gets a drop on her tongue at night for sleep.

Your doctor may be able to prescribe you a specific strain just for your needs.

@Marie Mallory I am sorry I can’t remember what your issues are that you need the gabapentin? Maybe what I use won’t work for you.

What helps me to reduce the pain enough so that I can actually get four hours sleep at a time is indomethacin. It is an NSAID that requires a prescription. At least if you do get picked up for speeding or something else you won’t go to jail for using a schedule II drug.

I am allowed to take it three times a day, but I don’t. Some days if I have to go somewhere, I won’t take it at all because it relaxes me enough that I want to fall asleep and I don’t fancy doing that while driving into town.🤯

I can run the equipment with it just fine, but I don’t want to be out on the road if I feel like I’m gonna doze off. Anyway, it is not a magic bullet, but maybe it will help you. I wanted to write this down for you before I forgot what I wanted to say.

My brother has been here five days and that kid hit it hard. If I had to pay somebody for everything that he did, I would be bankrupt.

He fixed the muck ups on both my four wheelers that I had sent out to a certified ATV dealer and spent $800 getting them fixed. The dealership didn’t fix them. The only thing that dealership did was get them to where they would start right on the first push of the button, Otherwise they really messed things up. It is too bad that my brother who is a plumber had to be the one to get them running the way they’re supposed to be running.

Plus, he got the Ford 3000 back together, took it out and bushhogged one of the pastures to make sure it was running OK. That was the biggest part of one day.

Plus, he fixed the problems with both of the bathtubs faucets.

Plus he cut up the big limb that broke partway off of one of the trees in the yard in a big storm. He got the chainsaw out and cut it down so that it at least won’t let go on its own, and take a big roll down the side yard that is so steep it would keep going out onto the road.

Plus because my four wheelers haven’t been running since last fall, I have not been able to get up on the ridge to check fence. And guess what! The barbless wire fence that we strung up to keep the horses out of an old dump site, from 40 years ago, came down and was down everywhere so he fixed that. The horses could’ve gone through there anytime they wanted to, but they don’t go up there because the bogeyman lives up there. Right about now, I’m glad the bogeyman does live up there.😱😱

I did some extra cleaning which equals more trash — trash that I asked him to run to the dump. My RE taxes pay for trash as long as I take it there. The dump is a hop-skip away, as the crow flies, so no big deal.

Brother left for home early this morning. Both dogs really like my brother, but the senior dog really loves him to pieces — he whimpered and hugged into my chest for a short time, then moved his 75# self to the foot of the bed😇😇

Brother got his exceptional logic, common sense & deduction from our dad. I’m pretty good, but can’t hold a candle to my brother 😇😇. I

OK, I have to read what everybody else has wrote because I’m way behind on reading.
Interesting you are given indomethacin. It was the older drug given for gout prior to naproxen. It has more side effects than naproxen but is a fine NSAID if you can tolerate it.

I had gout two years ago. I don’t eat to have gout, the doctor said it was likely all the stress from caring for my husband, along with maintaining this property and caring for the horses. Boyyyyyy that is something I never want to experience again.

I had discovered it does indeed reduce the arthritic pain in my hands and back. I tolerate it pretty well because I only take one here and there — usually weather dependent and I have a lot of heavier stuff to do🤠

I need to get Zinia seeds in the ground before the storms come. Cinni apple rolls for first breakfasts, filing and a pile of ironing. Aold age boring day.

I was planning to wash my car but it looks like rain so I guess I'll wait on that...boo hoo. I've been wandering around the backyard, checking on all the spring growth. We need to put some kind of rock or gravel along the drainage system and I'm trying to calculate how much to buy. I'm really not excited about moving bags of gravel.

I'm not doing much of anything today. It is a "blah" kind of day. We have had thunderstorms all morning and heavy down pours off and on. I'm just pacing around the house, stopping to look out of the windows like something has changed from the last 2 minutes I had looked. I want to go outside and get some fresh air and enjoy the smell of the rain. My husband is glued to his recliner reading in another room, and making some unnecessary loud yawning noises. He will probably be snoring before long.

So far today, we splurged. We didn't have our usual oatmeal for breakfast. Instead, I made a cinnamon snack cake this Easter morning for my husband and myself. It was delicious with coffee.

My sister-in-law invited us to come to their house for Easter. She will have all of her motley crew side of the family and whomever else. No thanks. Too many people. My husband said we probably were only invited because then she could ask if I would make the cakes and whatever else. Plus, we just didn't want to make the long drive.

I'll probably cut out a shirt pattern today and set it aside for another day to start sewing. That will probably be it for today, unless something else arise that needs to be done.

Some yard work and some yard playtime. Toy cleaning for the three day play date next week end. Made excuses for Easter invitations,

I'm heading out to run errands and my weekly "gotta drive the car and charge the hybrid battery" thing. I have to admit, that hybrid car is not the right fit for my lifestyle and is beginning to annoy me. (And we all know I have that hair-trigger annoyance threshold.)

I'm sure I'll have to stop by the garden center, and maybe mosey through Walmart. My husband has gone over to his sister's house; she is having an in-ground pool built and he likes to watch construction projects. I can't believe she is having a pool built at age 72 but it's her life so I'll butt out. :D
