What Are You Doing Today?

What does beetroot juice taste like?
It's hard to explain. It's like a fruit juice, only there's an underlying metal-like feeling on your tongue.

It's the aftertaste that tastes like beets.

I drink it every day. It's rich in Folate B9, which really helps promote heart health. (2x heart attack survivor here)

It also contains Vitamin C, B6 (good for red blood cells), Manganese (liver and kidney).

The betalains are also a natural anti-inflammatory for joints.

I've read it's also good for lowering blood pressure.

I've been outside trimming the wisteria; it is sending tendrils out all over the place. We are planning to order some river rock or gravel to put around the garden shed so that will be another big job. I ditched the large rosemary bush since it had gotten too big and "woody". Also threw out a split-leaf philodendron that was out of control and looking bad.

I have a load of laundry going and I have a bit of a headache. I think it's from all the pollen outside; my eyes feel dry and scratchy.

I too have a couple loads of laundry, one in washer now.

Woke up grabbing my cowbell; that didn't keep them away so I got semi dressed and pulled out my automatic bb handgun. That was enough to scare'em or was it just 'me' in the shadows. This was at 5:30 am.

Since I was up I finished the second and third step of hair care listening to the collaboration of Bob James and David Sanborn cd.

Ok, I was expecting a Kroger delivery between 8-9 this morning so I went out to get my trash bin and spied a stray dog heading in my direction, guess what, it didn't keep going. I rushed inside and after checking for an exit on each side of the house it returned and came up on my porch. A big dog, maybe part pitbull. It had made itself comfortable. I call animal control - closed referred to police non-emergency number. After explaining that I had a grocery delivery coming in 15 minutes. Police suggested I contact Kroger and to give the driver a heads up. That was all of 15 minutes as the driver pulls up. I made motions to get his attention and pointed to the dog. He was aware and exited the truck like it was nothing. I stopped him because I didn't know how the dog would react. He was still calm. He said 'He likes you.' Oh boy. Well, we worked it out. He would set the groceries near the stairs and I jeez would get them. I cautiously managed to carry six bags into the house. The motion detector alerted me every time he moved so I would peep out then I saw that he was limping. It 9:35 I made a call to animal control and had to leave a message.

Honestly, he has been very well mannered from the time I got the groceries until now. I feel he belongs to someone.

What a worry. He may just be somebody's pet with a hurt leg or he could be a bad tempered biter. How can you know?

A few years ago I noticed a pack of four dogs, led by a big white Pit Bull, roving the neighborhood, almost tipping over someone's shed to get a something underneath and other fun stuff. I kept hoping they would move on, but then it was 3:00, time for the school busses to let the kids out right where they were hanging out.

So I did what you did, called animal control, got told to call the police, did that, and was told, "Oh yeah we know those dogs, they get loose every now and then, we'll call the owner." Jeez.

I ordered some sisal rope from Amazon; I have a project in mind. One of my large clay pots on the patio has developed a crack and I'm going to try hot-gluing some rope around the lip of the pot to maybe get another season out of it. This should be interesting.

I also want to venture out to Hobby Lobby and to Lowes', mostly to just look around for garden stuff.

My husband has been replacing my under-counter kitchen lights and I was trying to help, but I think I was mostly in his way. I need to call the HVAC company and set up our springtime checkup for the A/C system. The guy will climb into the attic, clean the coils, etc. Things we used to do ourselves but now are happily letting someone else handle.

I might wash my car but we'll see. It's not really dirty but has dust and pollen that need to be rinsed off.

Wow! Sounds like everybody is enjoying being outside today.
You may want to rephrase that. Enjoying the last couple and future couple of days of misery once things are in place to enjoy

Got all dolled up and SO went to ENT with me on the wrong day. He is working on getting a sprinkler system to the raised beds while I will tackle a case of mushrooms and then the big freezer.

I decided to go for my walk. The dog did follow after me given I was out of sight for the hedges. I lost him though. No-one ever came. I didn't get very far because I remembered that I had an inspection either today or tomorrow on the electrical repair.

Another nice day, I plucked dandelions then snacked on re-fried beans and tortilla chips while watching Law and Order Toronto.

I had a great day. Got off work at 6am. Had an off day from the gym, so I went straight home, fed the dogs, showered, power napped for four hours, got up around 11, threw the frisbee for the dogs, got online, paid all the bills (end of the month), while treating myself to a cup of coffee. ( I like it, but rarely touch caffeine).

Then, I fell asleep in my big chair for about 1 1/2 hours, until the Missus started clanging around in the kitchen for supper.

Now, I’m watching my beloved Orioles.

So yea, a pretty good day.
