I suspect that farmers will never trust Deere again. I have a small Deere tractor, and I bought it in part because it was made mostly in the U.S. That is no longer true, so my decision might be different should I ever buy another.

Went out on Kubota and graded 500 ft of driveway, where kinetic had cut trench through our driveway, for the new optic fiber cables, and left a nice big speed "bump", right across our drive which "bounced" Marie everytime we went out drive; I kept saying I'm going to have to grade this, and finally did; now it;s smooth.

I took a ride around the trails yesterday, "slowly", on my tractor to clear my head, and "pretend" things are not really happening; like they are. Gave Marie her little walkie talkie so she can call if she needs me. After getting to the back of the property, deer were there as always and waved their tails at me after I waved at them. Came around to the newest trail we had made and let box blade drag it, to smooth it. Felt good for a little bit, but reality always sets back in.

I knew what you meant and mean when you say metal. You mean steel or iron, but I had nothing else today to add to the tractor thread, so I tossed it out there.

Most of us would know about what magnets stick to but have you seen some of the 'man on the street' type interviews of young folk on youtube?

The one attachment I wish I had bought is a bush hog. I don't need it often, but it's the only tool for certain jobs. My 32hp Kubota is not big enough for a batwing (which is ideal for our right of way), but there are times I could really use a smaller one. I've been told to avoid used ones.

We have a dr trimmer for the fenceline. Daughter took it for some repair. The guy said he could not do it but she could leave it behind. She didn't. I had gotten a new one and it came with PLASTIC wheels. She will swap out parts if she can't get the old one going.
We can rent a brush hog here

I have a self-propelled, walk-behind DR string trimmer, and I think everything on it can be repaired or replaced. It is fairly old, so I can't speak for the newer models.
