That's What She Said

I'm irritated with myself. I made an apple crostada (tart) and put it in the oven, then came upstairs. Forgot the tart and burned it to a crisp. Now it's in the trash and the house smells like burned food. 😖 And I didn't get any dessert.
I learned never to leave the kitchen for any reason when the oven is on. I also learned never to say "I'll remember." 'Cuz I won't.

I have, more than once, left when I had eggs boiling for hard boiled eggs. Once when we were out for lunch with a couple I said. Oh no! we have to leave, just after finishing, because I left eggs boiling on the stove. The woman said Your house might be on fire. I looked at my watch and said, no, not yet.
I knew this because boiling eggs don't catch fire. The explode, popping out of the pan.
I think.;)

We lived on the top floor of the local 4 story high rise. I went to a neighbor’s place to borrow something and we ended up chatting. Big red truck, sire to, ladder, … . We were hanging at her kitchen window to watch the spectacle until it hit me! Dinner was on the stove! We did not get billed. But it was entertainment for a community of not quite 1000.

When I was around 10, I heard something explode in the kitchen. When I checked, there were egg shells stuck to the ceiling. My mom forgot about them on the stove top. I remember thinking, "How can someone forget something like that?" Well, she was only around 35 at the time.

Well, let's find out more about your doppleganger, Shannon Nelson whom is just shy of 70.

Just one bumble fuckle away from a water hazard :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Showering is a whole new kettle of fish when you get older, depending on your infirmaries. I remember jumping in a shower daily when I was young. Now I have to think about it, prepare for it, make sure I remember a towel AND clean underwear....
And when I am done, if it is cold out, bemoan the fact that I washed off all of my protective dirt.

Google woo warmer rug. Even Amazon carries them. SO changed the plug to hardwired a couple of years ago. It is nice to step on a heated bathroom rug. They are also under the living room rug for the fur balls comfort.

Everything seems harder now.

I have been getting Mother's Day loot from the kids... Oldest daughter sent me a wicker basket of gardening tools, accessories and some seeds, son sent a gorgeous hanging basket of multi-colored petunias and a bougainvillea vine, and youngest daughter sent a gorgeous flower arrangement so I have had a busy delivery day. I have been scouting the backyard for a good spot to plant the bougainvillea since it will need something to climb on.

I wish I could shake off the doldrums; I don't know what the hell is wrong with me lately. I mope around here like Eeyore, sighing and thinking gloomy thoughts. I get so irritated by my physical limitations which makes me mad and depressed at the same time. Boo hoo, poor me.

Our youngest grandson is in a judo competition today and our daughter is sending video clips. So dang cute to see little kids in those "judogi" outfits. They live north of Austin so we couldn't be there to embarrass him in person, haha. He has won a first place ribbon and a second place already and he's grinning like the Cheshire cat. I sent him an Amazon gift card so he can "shop" for a reward from Gran & Pa-pa.

My 18 year old Marine is in Singapore. He has been moving around several locations lately and has been unable to communicate with family. He was recently in Hawaii and then on the ship to Singapore in "radio silence". He is still so heartbreakingly young and fresh-faced. Trump had better take good care of him.

My lymphedema arm has been acting up for the past week or so. It hurts and "burns" and the skin feels too tight. I'm really getting fed up with this, y'all.
