TV Dinner Trays!

My Mum had similar trays.

I was so jealous of a friend of mine who's parents had trays just like them. They regularly sat in the living room watching television while having supper on the trays.

I hinted to my mom and dad how we should get some, however, mom said mealtime was meant to be spent in the kitchen and at the table, and that was that, we never did get trays.

We had a milk box on the back stoop where it was delivered. We had a coal chute and room but by the time we got the house there was an oil furnace. We did not eat out. We walked to school. We played outside. Mom had a 'mangle' for ironing sheets.

Baby Scott Disposable Diapers

Instead of Pampers, there was Baby Scott. Baby Scott diapers resembled large Kotex Pads that slipped into special snap-on rubber pants, no pins needed.

One of my aunts used these for a few months before switching over to cloth diapers.

Early television remotes!

I still remember the loud sound they made when pushing the buttons... cha-ching - cha-ching!

We didn't have a remote. We had to STAND UP and walk SIX FEET though SHAG CARPET to change channels or turn off.

LOL, Mary!

We didn't have a remote television either, but one of my grandmas did and what a treat it was for us kids to be able to sit on the sofa and change channels!
