Shopping--What did you buy?

A new fleece replacement cover for Mr. Kitty's heated bed. He loves his heated bed all year long.🐾🐈‍⬛
My Ella loves her heated beds, although not in the summer; then, she uses the same beds, but I unplug them. I have about ten heated beds around the house; of course, some of them are the result of having had four cats at one time. As cats grow older, a heated bed becomes more important to them, I think. I have some beds that are fourteen years old.

Not too long ago we a had severe electrical storm with lots of lightening.. Well, lightning struck just across the road from our house and somehow blew out our TV that wasn't on.. That means a new TV...
I bought a 55 inch LG TV with a sound bar and subwoofer.. What a difference to my much smaller one..
Luckily, we have the same 46 inch tv that we bought in 2008. The tv we had before buying this, my wife had when I first met her in 2000. Sometime in 2011, while living in Jacksonville, FL, it went out. We had a tv repairman come to our apartment and he took out some kind of circuit board and replaced it. It's now coming on the end of 2025 and the tv still works fine.

Steve, did you get a 4K tv? I think, but not sure, that's the only kind of tv's that are sold today. 4K's weren't sold in 2008. When this 46 inch goes out, we will have to buy a 4K.

So dose Getty, especially since the Dogo dogs have no inner cold barrio like other dogs and can get frost bite easy. She will let Jake know if its off.

I don't review most of the stuff that I buy on Amazon anymore. I quit doing that over a year ago, after they removed an objective review that I had given three stars to, for a pet food that neither of my cats or even the strays would eat. I still gave it three stars because the ingredients looked good and, because cats are both finicky and individualistic, I assumed that some cats probably like it. I talked about the ingredients looking excellent, and that the food looked like I would be good, and so on, but that I couldn't give more than three stars to a cat food that my cats wouldn't eat, or even the strays. The raccoons ate it but it wasn't marketed as raccoon food.

I got an email from the producer asking me to reconsider my review. He went on to talk about how a three-star review would hurt their sales. Three stars is supposed to be satisfactory but everyone considers anything less than four stars to be negative these days. A couple of weeks later, I found that my review had been removed. Ironically, I had bought kibble from the same company at the same time, and I had given the kibble five stars because the ingredient list was good and everyone liked it. That review remained.

So, I no longer put a lot of credence in Amazon reviews, and don't usually waste my time reading or writing them.
Same with me, Ken. We have bought so many things on Amazon, it would take me months to write a review for everything we have bought. Besides that, I tell the truth about any product I buy and there are many that do not. They bad-mouth the product to much for my liking.

I am fine with X-rays. I always tell them that I have a pacemaker, and they say the x-ray is fine. Definitely not the MRI since it is magnetic, as is the induction cooking plate.
When my heart was working on its own and just had the pacemaker when it went too slow, I didn’t worry about it so much. Now, after the AV node block, it controls my whole heart, and if the pacemaker stops, I have NO heartbeat. So I am VERY careful now.

My goodness Yvonne, do you have a spare just in case?

With my spinal stenosis and some weight gain, it's very difficult in the morning for me to get my socks on. So, I recently purchased a product that is great to help you get your socks on.

"DMI Deluxe Sock Aid / Helper - Easily Pull on Socks Without Bending, Slip Resistance, Reliable Sock Aid Device for Seniors, White"

What a big help this product is. It may not get your sock all the way up on your ankle, but at least it gets it up far enough for you to grab it and pull it up the rest of the way.View attachment 197
Isn't that neat?

Just a little info: My hip-replacement surgeon gave me a special card to carry with me stating: "The owner of this card has a total joint (hip for me) replacement and/or permanent metal implant. This implant may activate a metal detection device."
I show this card to Security at any airport before walking thru, or standing in, a metal detector.

A spare pacemaker ? No ! The pacemaker is installed inside of my chest and connected to my heart. It takes a whole operation to change one. It runs on a battery, which lasts about 10 years, and i have about 5 years left on my battery now, and then I will have to have another procedure to take out this pacemaker and implant a new one.
Before, it just kicked in if my heart was beating too slow, but now it runs all the time and keeps my heart beating; so my life totally depends on that pacemaker working, and working properly.

Well, let's see: A new set of bed sheets. A few Audi Murphy movies (Westerns). The movie, Wild America. Two new Bath Sheets/Towels. Wildlife dishtowels (for Colorado). New Hi-Tech Digital Tape Measure that has two laser lights on it to put up pictures on a wall with. And, for us two "target shooters", an indoor Dry-Fire Laser Training Kit and Dry-Fire Laser Pistol. It's called: Strikeman. We can see where we shoot on a target with our app. It's more of a "training" aid than a toy. That way money/ammunition isn't wasted going to the Range to shoot all of the time.

And, a few other thing that we needed, or didn't need. LOL

Ok now I think I remember, my cousin has one too. You seem pretty healthy to me and thats good. Jake and I are back on The Restore. But not walking these past couple weeks has me not feeling so good. I think the muscles are healing though. But I cough more now that I don't walk.

Almost forgot to ask, since we are talking about Amazon: Has anyone here ever ordered something and got something else? We ordered a 2 Qt. Digital Air Fryer and a Baby Carriage (for a dog?) was sent to us. We never ordered the Baby Carriage! Anyway, I done a return (online) for the Baby Carriage, however, the Return Description was "2 Qt. Digital Air Fryer, checked "Wrong Item Sent" and we dropped it off at local UPS Store. Amazon gave us a "credit" on our Amazon Credit Card for the Air Fryer. We received the Air Fryer the next day from Amazon Delivery. We decided that we didn't want to Air Fryer, but when I went to Returns to return it, I couldn't do it. My Account already shows that it's been returned, whereas the Baby Carriage was returned.

So, does that mean we got a free $43 Air Fryer? Also found out that there are items from Amazon that can't be returned, but a refund is given for anyway.

Yes a couple times, last time was parfum. Some stinking stuff.

A couple months ago, when Bobby was taking the old water heater tank out of the little closet in the kitchen, he found an induction cooker plate up on a shelf in the back of the closet.
We looked it up on amazon and it was selling for about $200 !

We have NO idea how or when it got put on the shelf in that closet. We would not have spent that much money on buying one, and if my daughter gave it to us, we would not have put it way back in that little closet.
We have lived here for around 10 years now, so the whole thing is a puzzle.

Anyway, Bobby ordered a set of induction cookware from Amazon, and the plate works great. However…… and it is a BIG however…… when I read about it, it said that people with a pacemaker cannot be within 2 feet of the unit when it is turned on.
So, only Bobby uses it, and I stay completely out of the kitchen when he has it turned on.
Apparently the magnetism of the unit can throw my pacemaker out of sync, and since mine is set to completely control my heart, if it messes up, my heart stops, period.
I got one a while ago for the barnhouse which only had a woodstove for cooking. An impressive little item but I only paid $49 for it at Aldis.

I have not liked ebay for a long time now but hubby is into it. He bought a Screwball, a collector item magnetic storage screwdriver that we both love for a Christmas gift for our Daughter. It's condition was listed as 'used' but when it arrived it seemed broken. I started spitting nails that he had gotten it on ebay and to SEND IT BACK but the shipping cost more than the item and we had paid it getting it here and it would not be refunded!!!!
grrrrr.
Hubby is much calmer than I. He got out a pliers (my second go-to fix it tool) and fixed it. It still looks a little rough but it was a good thought.
Could not give her ours. A gift from a close friend who has since died.

Yes and I lover my extra long shoe horn!

Did you check and see if your car came with one? Ours did, and we never knew it had been in the car for 10 years. Since we had never had to change a tire, I never knew it was there. It was in the little alcove for the Jack.
My car comes with one of those kits that has the cheap pump with the sealant "goo" (Fix a Flat). That one plugs into the 12V so I wanted a better one that connects to the battery. I also bought a full-size spare tire and jack.

I bet that cost ya a good bit. The pump we got plugs into a 12V plug, but I like that since I'm in a wheelchair and messin' with the battery would be hard for me to do, for several reasons. I can stand up as long as I have something to hold on to, but I'm about as mechanical as a rock... I've always believed that if you think you don't know much about something, you know the most important thing... Don't mess around with it. Whether you leave it be or not is where most people get in trouble... ;)

I was actually surprised that it was actually a good air pump, and even though I wouldn't ever use it, it has the "goo" too. However, I suppose the reason I wouldn't use it is debatable. I put that stuff in a bike tire once and after I wore the tire out, changing it was a huge mess. But Costco tire shop people would be changing car tires. But now that my car has four new Michelin tires, that won't be a problem for 7 years.

Sorry to hear of your physical limitations. I'm old but I can still deal with stuff; I loaded the new tire/wheel into the back of my car by myself. I'm used to dealing with the battery because I keep a battery tender on it. I drive very few miles any more so the biggest issue I have is keeping the 12V battery topped off due to parasitic drain from all the electronics they put in cars now.

My car is a hybrid and needs to be driven every week or so to keep the big hybrid battery charged. I probably don't really need the car since we mostly go places in my husband's truck, but I have always had a car and I like to know it's in the garage.

New Michelin tires are nice, but they are not immune to nails and road hazards.
