Before going to bed last night, I asked Ella if she was coming (young lady, are you ready for bed?). She was lying on the futon downstairs and just gave me a tail flip, which I interpreted as meaning, "I'm okay where I'm at." She likes the futon and sometimes sleeps downstairs on it. Usually, she comes upstairs shortly afterward, however.
When I got up around 9 am, I noticed that Ella hadn't come up. However, by the time I had finished a cup of coffee, she usually nags me for breakfast, but not today. She wouldn't respond to calls, and I couldn't find her. I started looking everywhere I could think of. By afternoon, I was concerned and started questioning my memory. Was it last night that she was on the futon? Could she be in the library? Could she have gotten outside or into the crawlspace?
She didn't look sick last night, and she was chasing her tail around the night before, so doubt she's lying dead somewhere.
I moved everything out of the way so I could go down into the crawlspace, and looked through all of the possible hiding places in the library. I checked a couple of my cameras to see if she showed up on camera outside or on the porch. No sign of her.
After 5 pm, Ella sauntered into my office asking for something to eat. Ella is a butthead.
