It's the 1980's, what are you doing?

@Madge Bumstead wonder how it’s viewed by younger generation , ….changing clothing / nappies on the table …..we all done it ..even sprinkled baby powder and I used to put the baby bath on the table ,boil the kettle for the hot water …cold water that all came out of a rainwater tank in the backyard

All. On the on the same table we ate at ..didn’t think twice about doing it …I never had a change table …used the same table we sat down to eat at

It's true, Katey. I had no changing table, so when my babies were first born, the kitchen counter (or table top) sufficed in getting them ready for bath-time. I changed diapers in the baby cribs or in the the bathroom on the counter. As my little ones grew I moved to bathing them in one of those small plastic baby bathtubs which I'd set down inside the full-sized bathtub, and then I progressed to bathing them in the full-sized bathtub.

And guess what Kate? We all lived.

This one is for you Madge. Admiring friends little girls wearing these frilly over the nappies pants. I had boys so no frills for me.

Oh, those frilly little diaper pants/covers were the sweetest.

I had two girls yet never used them, but do remember them from my younger babysitting days and seeing other moms use them. Special pants they were, like for when leaving the house or attending church service, etc.

Wiping down the baby's highchair. Babies are so messy at feeding time!
