How's the Weather Where You Are?

The government's drought website gets updated every Thursday with data as of the previous Tuesday at 7AM, and we had a good storm on Tuesday. Our drought has improved one notch, from Extreme to Severe. The only status worse than Extreme is Exceptional.

67% of the state (by mi²) is still in some level of Drought condition, and another chunk is in the Exceptionally Dry pre-drought status. Only 9 counties out of 95 are at Normal.

It is seriously hot and humid today, and we have another heat wave for at least the next 10 days. It is showing weather up to 99F this next week or so, and no rain at all showing up in the forecast.
I went outside early this morning to try and get rid of some of the vines that are growing like crazy everywhere. I can usually keep them somewhat under control even in the heat of summer, but this year has been either blasting hot or pouring down rain, and I just have not been outside nearly as much, even in the early mornings.
The mixture of sun and rain has made everything really grow like crazy, both the things we want to grow, and the weeds and vines we do not want to grow.
