How's the Weather Where You Are?

+15 F. this morning and a good bit of new snow. At least it is starting to warm up. This is the best part of winter here--longer days and moderate (for here) temperatures. We will still have snow for at least another month and the ice is still frozen and drivable with cars. It hasn't been above freezing in a long time. It was close yesterday though as it got up to 30 F. here in the hottest part of the day.

Warm here, mid-50s and rising.

Yesterday was full sun, blue skies. Motivation to get my sleep schedule adjusted so I can play the solar power collection game again ahead of the "Summer Billing" days where grid power gets charged at premium rates. My power station batteries can help "time shift" consumption, recharging during off-peak hours. But any solar captured can be piped in to recharge as well.

It's indeed a lot of horsing around, but I can use the exercise and activity of hauling things around to follow the Sun. There isn't a way to do more practical hands-off collection on my small and heavily-treed lot anyway.

By 6 AM the rains should be returning. Could get heavy with high winds or worse. Further North things are much colder and they expect sleet, ice, and snow.

We have been having rain, but it has stopped and I do not see any more forecast for the rest of today, but more later this week. Long forecast is showing nights in the 20’s next Monday/Tuesday; so if that happens we will be bringing the container plants inside for a few days until it warms back up again. That is a week away, so it may have modified by then, hopefully.

-20 F. again this morning, so we are cold at least until the weekend. The sun is bright though and we had over 11 hours of sun every day. This is the time of year when snow blindness can be an issue.

60s again today, but we're having wintery mix warnings for tomorrow. The last time we had that, a few days ago, it didn't amount to anything, however.

26c ….78 F …nice sun but quite windy so I washed sheets …and a load of mixed clothing …I’ve got a pull out line ( don’t have a dryer )
1/2 of line is under our verandah …other out in sun ….i love the smell of clothing dried outside on a windy day

Off to city for dancing / shopping tomorrow …hope we can get petrol to get home

It came through hard and heavy as expected last night. We were in the center of the tornado hook:) Texts were flying through the neighborhood and our circle. So far one severely damaged car. It is still dark so no telling besides that the trashcan is sitting next to the street. Windy!

We have stormy weather brewing today, but nothing like what hit Kankakee and and parts of Indiana yesterday. They had hailstones 5 inches in diameter and a few tornadoes.

A heavy downpour this morning with gusts of wind blowing so hard you could see the water on the streets swell up like an ocean wave for surfing only in miniature version. It was the perfect opportunity for me to catch some rain water for my indoor plants.

Maybe more rain later today and the temperature is expected to drop in the 40s.
