How's the Weather Where You Are?

It isn't raining this morning!!!! The sun is even out. The rain is predicted to restart this evening, but a bit of sun will dry and warm the greenhouses and hopefully dry out the garden as well. I see this morning that the driveway pools have diminished, and wife called to say that work on our dirt road has commenced. Equipment has been sitting out there at the ready waiting for the rain to stop. We got a noticed last year that the borough was going to upgrade the road but it was never done. We got another notice this year with more details and it looks like it is started this morning. If the rain starts again, we may have a real mess. One of our friends who is semi-retired but who did earthwork for a living said he thought that he thought the dirt business was done for the year as the soil is so saturated that any time the earth is dug, it turns into mud. I guess we'll see. The road is our only access. At least it appears they are widening the road in the right direction. Most of the current road is on our property and not on the right-of-way, I guess because it was easier in 1954 when the rod was put in.
 
Last night, at 8PM, a very hard t-storm started. It should've been classified as "Severe", but it said "Hard". Pouring down rain, with some wind, and plenty of lightning/thunder. At 8:15PM, the wind calmed down, so the storm moved very slowly. We shut off our new tv, opened the living room shades and watched a "light show". It had been a long time since we'd seen this hard of a t-storm. The sky lit up like army anti-aircraft fire was going on. Darn near continuous lightning. Looked like the sky was full of electricity! IOW, that was one heck of a t-storm!!

Sort of funny/wild, but we didn't see anyone that was walking down the drive, using an umbrella. Guess young folks here don't care if they get wet. We have two umbrellas in our vehicle and more in our apartment.

Just one reason we moved back here. IOW, the weather here is much more interesting than in Henderson.

I'm old and I don't care if I get wet. It seems I am always wet. Even if there is no rain. I am sweating, I am watering--plants and animals... Hubby always uses or carries an umbrella. If it is pouring, I might wear a water repellent outer garment. Umbrellas obscure my vision. Or poke people I walk near.
 
In the low to mid 40s F. this morning, but the rain is very light. Ironically, on the north side of the Alaska Range, there is a heat advisory. I think there is supposed to be hard rain this afternoon, but it is predicted to be nice by the weekend.
