Yep, any where the ground freezes to any depth, you get rock movement. Our place is on what was likely a glacial moraine at one time, so there are lots of rocks, but the drainage is great once the thin soil thaws.Our ground heaves every winter. You can tell by how the sliding doors react. It did not occur to me that it brought up rocks (until we hit some) and that is why farmers have to 'pick rocks' every so often. I figured once you pulled stumps and cleared a field, built your stone fences, you were done.
