What Do You Have That Makes Doing Certain Things Easier At Our Age?

Since dogs are necessary for a few reasons this pen makes our life easier.we've had it for years, good on trips, and around the house and yard.
Right now it is freezing outside and they came in the house. 4 large dogs in the house is no fun loose. We have 2 in guest bathroom, one in the living room inside the pen and Foxy loose ruling and aggravating the restrained ones.
It can be set up as big or small as we need.

Cellphone Tip... since my eyes have been giving me problems, I have a very hard time reading labels and small print on stuff. I have a few magnifying glasses scattered about the house, but what really works best is taking a quick photo of the label with my phone. Then I can enlarge it as much as needed so that I can read the "fine print." If you haven't tried this, you'll be surprised how handy it is.

Beth so do I , they really come in handy, especially small print or reading expiration dates on foods.

Swiffer-style floor mop!

For those days when I just don't feel the urge to get down on all fours and wash floors!
Do you really "get down on all fours and wash floors"???

Anyway, that's what I have to use right now, being that, due to most of our apartment being low shag carpeting. With all of the carpeting, not enough room to set up and run the iRobot mop. When we move back to northern Colorado, we most definitely want an apartment with no carpeting in it. That way I can go back to using both the iRobot Vacuum and Mop.

We have a Doggy Play Pen, for the living room, that we bought, but haven't used yet. That's because we haven't yet got our "Daisy", name we will call her, Shih Tzu puppy.

Cody, out here un the woods people don't always respect privacy, so we need large watch dogs. Although we did finally put a 5' no climb fence up, some will climb over it.
Most of our neighbors are good, now and then some come in from outside. A few warning shots in the ground turns them around so far. Jake and I both came from country type parents who owned and knew how to use guns.
My mother 'an ex city slicker' who moved to the woods when I was a baby learned how to use a gun was the Calamity Jane type who could shoot the head off a moccasin at 50ft.

I have a picker thing that I use to pick up leaves, maple seeds, and trash so that I don’t have to bend over. It will pick up clumps of leaves at time and comes in handy, except in the fall when the volume demands a rake or leaf blower, although I don’t yet have the latter.

Now that (highlighted in red above) is very impressive. Seriously.

When I was in high school ('65-'68) I had a Daisy Pump B-B Rifle. My step-dad gave me full permission to shoot/kill all of the sparrows I could see/find. At night, in our barn, they would sit on the roof trusses that held up the roof. I would hold a flashlight next to the rifle, where I could shine a light on their back end. Now, why kill sparrows? Because they would crap all over our farm equipment.

When I was in the Navy, and onboard a Destroyer, I went thru Small Arms Training at sea on the stern of the ship. When I met my wife, I had no idea that she really had an interest in firearms and target shooting. I had none at the time, so we bought a Ruger 10-.22 Rifle. That was in 2003. Since then, we have bought her a few high-power handgun and a couple of rifles. Each of the handguns have a laser mounted on them and both rifles have a scope on them. She loves to go target shooting. IOW, she is my little Anne Oakley! She was raised as in a small city and her mom done some deer hunting. She is the only one in her family that owns/shoots firearms.

Anyway, sorry for straying off of the topic, but wanted to tell you about her and her mom.

I really do, because a mop only works so well, it works great at getting the bulk of the job done, but fails when it comes to corners and other tight or tricky areas. With that said, my knees pay the price these days, unlike when I was younger and never felt the aches and pains that I do today.

Madge I use large mops ,it takes less time and covers more area at a time, although they are heavy so pilling and pulling mopping they give a little workout. I do have an old metal janitors mop bucket they threw away at Jakes job 30 yr ago with good wringer and large bucket,
It is maybe 50 yr old but still works good.

Cody it is good that your wife can use a gun if she has to, you too. Jakes mom came in from work one day to find a young man standing in her living room, she had a shotgun , grabbed itnehind a chair and ask,' what in the hell are you doing in my house' she said he begged to let him leave ,she did. I bet he won't be back.

Sometimes guns make life easier and can add years to your life.

My vote is for Arnica gel in a pump bottle. Noted to calm and get rid of bruises in quick time and yes
it does, but I also discovered it helps calm pain too. I'm always knocking meself now and it bloomin hurts.
Now, I immediately use Arnica and the pains gone so quickly. Its good to use 'cos it sinks right in and no
'orrible smell to put up with.
First I'm hearing of this. Is it over the counter or by prescription?

I recently found a modern styled mop, one with a washable cloth pad, with the handle being made of light plastic. So easy and manageable, and as you mentioned, with a wider head on it to aid in more coverage.

I have similar to what was stated before.
IRobot
Electric can opener
Grabber
Electric toothbrush
Electric knife
Ring Video system
Remote switch to turn night table lamp off
Waste pail were I sit at night for wrappers, flyers etc only have to make one trip to garbage pail at end of night.
Remote control for TV, speakers, stereo

LOL Tony we have some of those too. They sure come in handy ,too.
