To Execute or Not to Execute, that is the question

I can see why they want to use a military firing squad to execute the Fort Hood terrorist, since he killed other military personnel, and did it when he was also in the US military.
However, I don’t see a need to make the execution public, and think that the American public does not need to we watching public punishments and executions, and I am not even sure if it would be a deterrent to other terrorists when they do this.

Probably not since terrorists are willing to die for their cause. And have a grand ol' time with those 72 virgins.

I don't really care one way or another about the public execution. I won't watch because it's not something I want to see. I believe Hegseth is trying to dole out the absolute maximum humiliation for Hasan due to his heinous acts on a military base while serving in the active military.

Hegseth: Fort Hood Terrorist’s Execution Will Be Public

Not only is Secretary of War Pete Hegseth planning to have terrorist Nidal Malik Hasan executed at the very base where he committed mass murder, but the public will be able to watch the execution.

Hegseth told Human Events’ Jack Posobiec that deciding the circumstances of the execution was a “no brainer. Execution by firing squad. An Army major betrays his country, [he’s a] radical Islamist, kills a bunch of Americans at Fort Hood. Of course, we're gonna do [the execution] at Fort Hood. Gonna do it on a Thursday, we’re gonna do it at 1:00, which is when he did it, and it's gonna be soldiers with rifles executing the firing squad.”

That's fine if the firing squad is their method of choice for execution, but having it televised serves no good purpose. I guess spineless Hegseth wants to show it thinking it will come across as a macho decision he made and show how tough he is. Not!!!

Personally I admire Hegseth; he got in there and got busy cleaning up the liberal woke mess. No more joining the Army so that the taxpayers can pay for your sex change operation, they/them Chuck.

Enlistment numbers are at record highs since he took over and did away with the woke nonsense in the American military.

I don't agree with the public execution but I don't have to watch it if I don't want to. I am concerned that children might be able to watch it, though.

I just can’t see the military putting this on national television. Maybe they will make it so military personnel can watch, but this is NOT something the American public, and especially children should watch. I think if it is public, it will be done in some way besides on open TV channels.

I've heard that it will be "livestreamed," but I have no idea what streaming service would be used.

I think the reason it is being made public, is because this guy was a terrorist of the worst kind. A pregnant lady begged for her life and this guy just shot her with no emotion. SICK as are all that submit to Sharia law. The barbarism of the radical Muslims has been allowed to continue too long.

It is a personal decision whether to watch or not. I won't, but do see this as sending a message to Iran that the current admin is taking an action and all the infiltration they have done over the years, is coming to a close. Sometimes, seeing is believing.

I doubt it will be a deterrent. I see it serving to stop any idea and rumor that the guy wasn't really killed.

Another sweet-looking granny. She was a landlord who rented out rooms to tenants, drugged them & collected their social security. She killed at least nine & buried them on the property. When the bodies were exhumed, there was clear evidence that some were buried unconscious but alive & woke up struggling to escape - evidenced by compacted dirt under them.

The only reason I could ever see showing a live execution to the public is if it would be a deterrent for future violent criminals. Personally, I don't think televising it would be a deterrent. People have seen so many violent crimes on tv, in the movies, and in the news that they become desensitized to it. I really don't see anything good coming out of televising it except for making the streaming services money or whoever is showing it to the public.
Televising it gives another 15 minutes of fame.
