I went to the optometrist earlier, got a new eyeglass prescription and ordered a pair of glasses. The doctor seemed a little surprised that I am not going ahead with the cataract surgery and said that the new glasses will help some but the cataract is just going to keep growing. GAH.
She also did not recommend contacts for me because she said that glasses provide better, sharper correction. Apparently contacts are not made in specific granular prescriptions but in "ranges", because it would be impossible to stock all the possible prescriptions which makes sense.
So now I need to start studying the various replacement lens options for cataract surgery. I'm sure that surgery will be coming in the next 6 months or so and I have a lot of questions.
