What's for supper?

We stopped at Outback for dinner. I ordered the "Bloomin' Burger" which must have been 7" tall on the plate; tallest dang burger I ever saw. I had to dismantle it to eat, and I discarded the bun altogether. It had 'Bloomin' Onion' petals on it and a huge grilled patty. My husband had a steak and baked potato, and we ordered cheesecake for dessert. We were so full that we brought the cheesecake slices home in a to-go box. Now I'm sleepy.

I love to make taco salad. I think I will make one this weekend. This morning I am frying some well ripened yellow squash and will think of what to use them for later. I have onions, colored peppers and meat I could throw together.
I always wanted to make taco salad bowls out of a fried tortilla, but thought they were deep-fried in a special mold. I just read that they are pan fried, shaped inside a glass bowl or other oven-proof vessel (I saw a measuring cup being used), then baked...at least, the ones made at home are.

I'm gonna add it to my Future Meal list. I'm leaving the link for the bowls and a variety of salads & dressings here so I can find it later. link

If you are using flour tortillas just brush them with a bit of oil and stick them in an oven proof dish. As you are Mr Gadget - fluted pans are inexpensive.
Get wonton wrappers, stick them into a muffin tin, brush tips with a bit of oil, dust with chile powder. Keep two eyes on them in the oven as they go from zero to overdone in no time. I do mine in the air fryer.

So you use the wonton wrappers as little taco salad bowls, or do you fill them with something else? I used to make a lot of from-scratch Chinese dishes. Homemade egg rolls with homemade mustard are the best!

I have brushed them with soy sauce for tiny offerings of honey sriracha chicken, spiced carrot salad, mini apple pies, taco bowls with just a squirt of crema and green onion or quiche.
