What's for supper?

I slathered a small pork roast in butt rub and tossed it into the crock pot. Later I'll shred it and add BBQ sauce, and we'll have pulled pork on buns with chips. I'll probably make some coleslaw because I have to have something green.

And I have some leftover rice in the fridge so I'll be copying @John Brunner and making rice pudding for dessert. I don't think I have any raisins in the pantry so it will be plain with a sprinkle of nutmeg.

Funny, I'm having nearly the same thing. I'm gonna reheat a sous vide spare rib and make a sandwich w/coleslaw for dinner, along with the rice pudding. I bought some beef tallow and am gonna do pan fries with it (that stuff ain't cheap.)

My hunter nephew gave me some rabbits and squirrels yesterday. Anybody have a recipe for rabbit and squirrel? ☺️

I grew up eating fried rabbit and squirrel and other wild game. My husband said his grandmother made squirrel and dumplin's. I haven't ate wild game in many years and I don't care to eat anymore, if I don't have too.

I have eaten rabbit and squirrel as a kid, too. I have never cooked either one that I recall. I seem to remember squirrel having a lot of little bones, but I could be wrong. I remember fried rabbit but it seems like squirrel was "stewed" mostly.

Today was my day off so we had Chinese takeout.

It's soup and stew season in TX so I've been making a lot of one-pot suppers lately, though. What's for dinner at your place tonight?

My family always hunted rabbits and squirrels and mom would make a beautuful potpie with a delicious crust in top. One day, I was discussing this with a few friends, and someone looked shock and asked if were hillbillies!
Glad I didn't throw in the fact that it was often served with polk that was gathered in the woods.

B/S chicken breast cooked in a honey/garlic sauce... served with lots of sauce..
Fried rice, peas, steamed broccoli..
jello
Pot of tea........

Tell me about your sauce, Steve. I tried one recently that was butter, minced garlic, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 tablespoon vinegar, and 3 tablespoons of honey. It was OK but it seemed like something was missing. (Served with pan grilled chicken breast.)

Air Fryer British Chiken Pastry. I have no idea if it is actually British or not, but it sho is Yummy.

You may want to try replacing the vinegar with lime juice and add a fresh Jalapeño. Finish the chicken with the sauce.
