Not all of my family will eat fish some will not touch it with a 10-ft pole. I have a strange way to eat Fish. First the fish has to be the breaded type preferably a filet, not stick or cake. I'll eat it with a bowl of spaghetti with tomato sauce. I will coat the fish in tomato sauce, and eat it with the spaghetti with bread and butter.Well, I suppose this will make me unpopular, but I like good wild caught ocean fish. Wild caught Halibut or Red Snapper, is my favorite. I don't eat fish because I am to lazy to cook it. I suppose I will get my geology pick out and chip the ice block that has 24 wild caught cold water Cod fillets in it. It is over a year old and I can't ignore it any longer, because my freezer is in serious need of defrost. It looks like an Arctic scene from National Geographic.
I got one of those last week. It's that time of the year...Arby's Crispy Fish Sandwich, Mozzarella sticks for me. Lady friend also had the Crispy Fish Sandwich but with Curly Fries and a vanilla milk shake. Livin' large.![]()
I admire your meal planning so early in the day.I need to clear out the produce drawer so today will be stirfry.
My wife is trying a recipe that she found online called Mississippi roast, it's really a pot roast. This one's made in the the slow cooker and is a mix of a packet Au Jus gravy mix, a packet of Ranch Seasoning mix, jar Pepperoncini peppers, and a 3-4 lb Chuck Roast, unsalted butter, salt and pepper.
It's in the slow cooker for 8 hours.
She's planning on sides of vegetable, and noodles. (and bread and butter for me)
I hope the gravy will be tasty and the meat tender.

Not so good for me. The heat from the peppers while it was mild to everybody else for me it was burning my throat. I can eat spicy foods most times but food that is hot give me a problem. These Peppers had a little Heat and I felt it from the first taste of the meat. The noodles were very good so was the bread and butter. Haha that's why my middle name is Carb. I told my wife I prefer using onions or garlic for flavor. So how did you like the Mississippi Pot Roast, Tony?
Are you sure she didn’t accidentally use jalapeños or some other hot pepper ? The pepperoncini taste more like a pickle than a hot pepper, just kind of a sour and vinegar taste, but not hot.Not so good for me. That is what I was wondering too @Yvonne Smith but New York folks generally know what pepperoncini are as there are so many Italians there. @Tony Page is it possible a hotter pepper was used? Are you sure she didn’t accidentally use jalapeños or some other hot pepper ? Thinking about it I'm not sure, I don't have the jar to check it. It might have been the juice the peppers were in had too much vinegar solution. Something was irritating my throat I felt it all night. Are you sure she didn’t accidentally use jalapeños or some other hot pepper ? I made myself chocolate milk and took Tums I even had a faminadine trying to relieve the irritation in my throat. No one else was affected but me.That is what I was wondering too @Yvonne Smith but New York folks generally know what pepperoncini are as there are so many Italians there. @Tony Page is it possible a hotter pepper was used?
