What's for supper?

That looks interesting. I often add instant potatoes to soups & stews as a thickener.

I was thinking that I would probably delete the hash browns and just use regular cubed potatoes in the chowder. I don't usually buy bagged hash browns though I do appreciate a shortcut now and then. When the weather finally gets cool, I'll be making more soups and stews.

I noticed that the foreword to his cookbook is written by The Pioneer Woman. I didn't look to see what their connection is. I thought it odd since rotisserie chicken and instant potatoes are the opposite of what she does.

I haven't looked at any of his other recipes, though apparently he has a ton of them on that Facebook page and on Youtube. You probably know that Ree got her start as a blogger; I'm not sure she has had any formal training as a cook/chef, either. Many years ago before the Food Network show I liked reading her blog, but she was "nobody" then and she was quite witty and well-spoken. Her recipes seem solid but not exactly haute-cuisine.
