What Are You Doing Today?

Trying to work out transportation to medical appointments. I don't feel safe driving much at all until I resolve my vision issues (cataracts).

The intern I was seeing graduated, and I can't get prescriptions renewed until I go in to see a new doctor.

This results in more anxiety than I enjoy, so to speak.
Have you considered the employment offices of local colleges? Drive, study/wait, drive.

This is yesterday , hubs only has a short distance drivers licence and we had to go to the city ( 2 hours drive each way ) as we was only given 7 days to remove any items we wanted from our wrecked car ( hubs wanted to put the skinny emergency tyre back in the car and retrieve the extra tyre / fancy rim we bought , after buying the now ~ wrecked car and other stuff

I understand about the renewal of scripts because of seeing a new doctor. It happened to me this year but instead of a new doctor I have a nurse practitioner, I believe that's what they are called, being just below an actual physician. Now I have to pay for one of my scripts because she is not authorized by my insurance. It's not going to break me though. Healthcare is constantly changing now.

Having coffee, we have had rain and more to come. My daughter surgery is at 9:30 today. We got the crying part off earlier.
Reading the headlines here- ICE is now in dodge City, Garden City, and Liberal :(Hoping no problems.as Dodge is basically Hispanic and always has been.
I am tried this morning mentally and emotionally. But hopefully I will improve later today. ;)

Do you have a public transportation bus in your town? Around here, we have RMTD buses (Rides Mass Transit District). The bus picks people up at their door and then takes them to surgical centers, doctor’s offices, or wherever they may need to go.

I tried to get some weeding done in the backyard and do a bit more organizing of my potting bench area. It is so miserably hot outside that I get overheated quickly and end up sitting in the shade on the patio with my ice water.

I need to get into my main closet and do some culling. I wanted to buy a couple of new things to wear but I need to take some things to Goodwill and take an inventory of my clothes and shoes. I need for my daughters/DILs to come and visit so I can pawn off some shoes, boots, and handbags.

I am amazed ! It is almost 2 o’clock here and still only 80 F outside, according to my weather app. I have actually been outside working in the yard today, did some weedeating and some vine-pulling, and worked up a sweat doing it.
The laundry and house stuff is done, rice has been cooked, pets are all fed, and bathing Marco Poodle is next on the list after a little recuperation time.
Then, I might go and work on the fall sorting of clothes to get ready for winter.
Last week, my body seemed to be working its way through the fruit/rice diet changes, and I had some slow days, but this week, I seem to be getting my energy back, which is a good thing.

I was hoping today I would get started filling the raised bed where I want to plant my three strawberry plants. But I may have overdid it yesterday, this morning I woke up with cramps, and feeling really under the weather. I decided I will take today and start fresh tomorrow, so I caught up on some TV shows.

I did help my wife using the food mill on some plum tomatoes to make tomato sauce. We did one large bowl, which produced 40 oz of sauce. I was playing with the idea of getting an electric juicer, however I don't know what the future holds whether we're staying here or moving. I also don't know whether I'll have this many tomato plants in the future. I was examining my garden this morning my wife picked 25 lb of tomatoes a few days ago and it looks like there's another 25 lb still on the vines.
My name should be Tonymato, we have so many tomatoes in bowls and Frozen Plus what's left outside, I should have opened the stand. Hahaha 😆

Feeling foolish.

Outside in raggedy yard work garb. Little old lady I see walk by now and then came along. I've seen her come along before and we have chatted very briefly multiple times.

Sweaty and shabby, I stayed about 20 feet away and we talked a little. She said she'd missed seeing me for a while, which is true, and asked whether I'm doing ok. I mentioned the cataracts, she said she's been through the surgery but now has macular degeneration. I described my harrowing drive to me son's last XMas. She said she can't drive, only really seeing with one eye. Yadda yadda, she said she lives alone and needs someone to drive everywhere. I admitted much the same.

She lingered a bit, but then moved on.

I think I might write my name and number in big print, start carrying it to give to her the next time I see her.

Who knows, maybe once I get cataract surgery I can help her out.

Funny how just 1 year ago I thought this was something a decade away for me.

Today was hubby's birthday. We had planned a small party with friends but middle daughter is fighting a cold so we put it off till next week. Got Dave his favorite chocolate cake from aldi. We never get them any more because we have cut out sugar but I decided he should have some sort of fun today. Youngest daughter stopped by after work which was nice and I made him a birthday apple pie to share with her. Have to do something with these apples....

Happy Birthday to your Hubby!

Coffee, and reading some news about what is going on with ICE here. Guess we will go OK. to avoid conflict here..if it becomes necessary. Turns out daughter in hospital has severe sleep apnea. oxygen dropped to 19! Something else for her to deal with. Otherwise she is better today. Now if friend Julia could just get home.
Not sure about today, usual house hold stuff nothing heavy.

It is actually chilly this morning, and I have on socks for the first time in months, to keep my feet warm. Today, I am in the back room and separating out the summer and winter clothes and getting ready for cooler weather.
Later, I will probably go outside and use the weedeater for a while again today.
Bobby does all of the big weed-whacking, but I use my little one around the gardens and flowers.
