What Are You Doing Today?

Not doing much too today. I may run the vacuum cleaner and I may not. I might have to ask the magic 8 ball. :D I already watched my husband take down the old shutters off of the house. The brick needs to be washed before he puts the new shutters on but, it is super-duper hot again today with no breeze to be felt. The brick washing and installing of new shutters will have to wait until another day.

It will not run and hide. There is tomorrow.

I have been vacuuming and shampooing carpets. I have neglected cleaning during summer now it's catch-up time.

The problem with housecleaning is that you do it then six months later, you have to do it again. :)
I like your style.

I bought tires over the internet and had them installed at Walmart yesterday. When I got in my car to leave, the battery was nearly dead. It's over 7 years old. So I went back and had one installed today. Several members on my Mazda forum consistently recommend Walmart's EverStart MAXX battery (Walmart's premium line) as the best bang for the buck, since there are only a handful of battery manufacturers regardless of whose label is on them.

I put together a new fan I got on closeout, and the thing is whisper-quiet. What an improvement! I keep a fan on all the time to blow the living room air down the hallway across the thermostat so the HVAC is controlled by the living room temp and not the hallway's temp (this is how you address Old House Issues.) The old noisy vertical fan is headed to Goodwill, where they can sell it for Retail+10%.

I soaked a batch of walnuts overnight and have them in the dehydrator. Gotta get that fiber.

Being angry and in pain. Yesterday, a crown came off. It was only a year old & it was expensive. I'm not seeing the dentist who did it because of other problems I've been having with her work; she did a terrible partial that I returned & she still tried to charge me $2,500.00 for it. I called my other dentist who does extractions & surgery & I came in today. He said the crown should have never been done because any dentist could see there was decay under it. I asked him why a dentist would do that & he just shook his head. He didn't want to badmouth another dentist by saying what I already suspected - she did it to make $1,500.00 on the crown, even though she knew it wouldn't last very long. Then he x-rayed the tooth next to it that she also crowned & said "Same thing with that one; it also has decay & should not have been crowned & also has to come out.
So, I'm staying home, recovering from two surgeries. And no upper molars. (Several years ago another dentist did a permanent bridge on top of decay that had to come out two years ago). Watermelon for dinner. :giggle:

Bad dental work can sometimes take a year or two to be revealed, so you can continue having the dentist do work during that time & suffer the consequences later, as I am now. I'm going to add these two adventures to my "Yelp" review.

I am making mini meatballs today to freeze. We will either have some meatball sandwiches or spaghetti and meatballs for supper tonight. The verdict is not in yet, as Mr. Man, has gone to Menards to pick up a few things this morning.
Thank you for the suggestion. I will make a batch of tiny ones for Scooby snacks. Topped with a piece of cheese and a pickled Jalapeno slice.

Major harvest in the pepper plantation and then processing. That takes Utube Sci-fi stories:) Debating what to cull in the bedding department. That is a hard one for me.
Town went crazy over OUs football opening game and today it is Tulsa. Players and spectators are baking in the heat.

It's Saturday in September. I'll be watching college football this afternoon/evening
I love college ball. I'll watch most any college football game that's on, and tune into college basketball when March Madness rolls around. I could not tell you the last time I watched any professional sports, and I used to be an NFL junkie.

My neighbor's have a family member who was the local star high school running back, and was heavily recruited. All of the athlete ranking places (including ESPN) had him as the #1 or #2 running back recruiting prospect in the nation. He is in his first year at Michigan. Savion Hiter.

I gathered up the throw blankets from the den and got them in the wash. I call my husband "Linus" because he loves his throw blankets.

I've been trying vainly to rearrange stuff in my overstuffed kitchen. I want to get the Ninja Creami off the countertop but it's heavy and really tall...like 17". So I shuffled stuff around for an hour and now it's all back exactly where it was to begin with. 🤬 I need to purge about 75% of my "toys" but I just can't make myself do it.

@Tony Nathanson - that is my fear at the moment. Hubby having all teeth pulled starting soon. He loves his dentist , just hoping he's as good as hubby things he is.
I had the option of puling 10 teeth in one visit, but that requires general anesthesia & Fentanyl. I didn't like the dentist I saw & I wanted to be awake to know what was going on & also be able to drive home afterwards. I chose a different dentist & had two extractions per visit with just local. Not everyone can be awake for tooth extractions; it's rather rough but if the dentist is patient & knows what he's doing it makes a big difference. I don't like being drugged unless absolutely necessary.

Today, not much. Out for breakfast, a little grocery shopping and then back home to do whatever else we can find to do. Our busy day was yesterday, Saturday the 5th of August. We got up at 4:15AM to get dressed and drive to a nearby city where some Hot Air Balloons were going up for a Labor Day Weekend Festival there. We haven't seen any Hot Air Balloons in a couple of years. It was great seeing about 20 of them launch and absolutely perfect weather for it. We got to the parking lot just as it was opening at 6AM. After that, it was breakfast at iHop and a short rest at home. Then, to the automated Car Wash and grocery shopping. Back home after that and took a couple hour nap.

It's a 3-day weekend for my wife (work) and we are "trying" to get a few things done. Tomorrow, Labor Day, out for breakfast and then to the boat to try and start it up.
