What Are You Doing Today?

What am I doing today? I am not going to whine so much about all my little health bumps in the road that I have been having of late. I am a little embarrassed by my complaining. I am a worrier and I react before I think. Sorry. Onward! ☺️

Girl, misery loves company. I am the biggest "over-sharer" on the forum and I get bored with myself so I can only imagine what everyone else thinks. :ROFLMAO: Share away!

I have been trying to work outside for two weeks now but the weather was not in my favor. So on good days even when it's hot I have been doing a little bit at a time to make some progress.

Today I will be trimming bushes and deadheading flowers.

It's really good to hear from you, Von. You are awfully quiet these days and I miss reading about your adventures at the flea market, chasing raccoons, DIY projects, etc.

Is today Thursday? They all look alike these days. The only item on the agenda is for the folks that sold my friend her power wheelchair to come by the house and pick it up, then deliver it to her assisted living facility. And then I will visit her as they deliver.

I'm the same about what day it is. If I didn't have to keep up with trash pickup I'd never know. (I just look outside to see if the neighbors have put their cans out. :D)

I'm glad you're getting the wheelchair situation resolved.

When I would visit my MIL she would sometimes say, Mary, What day is it? Tuesday, Friday, Thursday...? It's Monday Amanda. Then she'd say Don'tcha just hate how they keep changing the days around?

The only way I remember what day it is is the weather forecast. I've been working outside knowing I needed to get things done because rain was forecast for Thursday. (I gotta have my back against some wall before I get off of my butt.) The fact that it's Thursday and not raining is throwing me off a bit.

I don’t often lose track of the days, but I do lose track of the hours unless I have to be somewhere. Unwanted naps are generally the fault of that….

The lady whose Arabian is on lease to me as a companion to my elderly horse, has lost the lease where she boards her other two. Both she and the elderly gentleman who lives there with his six horses were given less than a month to get out — equipment and all😡

It’s a 63 acre farm with frontage on two roads, and housing developments going up on either side of it. Doesn’t take a genius to figure out why they have to move but it’s dirty low down they were both told two weeks ago, they have to be gone in under a month😡😡

I am going to lease her a 9-1/2 acre tract of my land so she has somewhere to put her two horses that is safe. It is in woven wire fencing, but no water and no shelter, unless the trees count for something.

For now, I have the old pathway mowed out that runs along that fence line and we will run a couple hundred feet of water hose from my barn spigot down to where their water tubs will be.

She can rent a portable shed for shelter from a couple of different nearby businesses. I don’t have room in my barn, I’m not able to do all that work anymore, it would cost her more than renting a shed will cost for full care, and most importantly I don’t want my 30-ish fella pushed around and kept out of the barn by two younger horses and one snippy donkey. He was here first, he comes first, and he cherishes his big fan.

We also discussed the possibility of her buying that parcel, if she can afford it; her two will have a lot more pasture than they have now, just no creek water.

It is my brother’s intent to try and make the ten hour drive down here in October to do all the bushhogging since I can’t do that anymore either <insert a LOT of swear words over me no longer being able to bushhog>🤬🤬. He is such great “kid”❤️❤️.

My neighbor bushhogs if I ask him but his batwings, even though much faster, can’t cut as short as my Bushog that will adjust closer to the ground. My brother alleges riding around in the open fields is therapeutic and gives him time to think. My husband used to say the same thing😇😇

Sometimes you have to look out for your own first. As harsh as this may sound your neighbors knew and now they have to get their heads out of the sand.

Would a well be possible. Maybe with a windmill?

Would a well be possible. Maybe with a windmill?
There is a cased well on that piece of property. It has always held water, but it’s filthy dirty. My husband built & put a new/heavy roof on it years ago to keep curiously stupid kids out of it. The casing is cement block from days of old and has some cracks in it. Once upon a time, there were cattle over there, and there was a pumphouse where the electric ran to the little house next-door to me, but that was all been blown down by the wind. All that’s left of the pump House is the cement pad with the kids names on it from the 1940s that I refused to let my husband chop up and carry away.

It would cost a lot more to have that well casing made safe to hold water, have it be safe drinking water and erect a windmill than it would be to run the county water down from the road. Which everyone on this road has been on county water since before I moved here 23 years ago.. That’s why for now we’re just running a 1” water hose down there. It’s all down hill, it’s the simplest most effective thing to do, until she decides whether or not she can afford to buy that piece of property, or even wants to buy it.

She works a ridiculous amount of overtime hours at the Nissan plant on midnight turn. Moving her horses over here would actually save her a lot in mileage to check on them plus her one adult child who helps her with everything lives closer to me than he does to where her other horses currently are now. It could be a win-win once the water and the Shelter get figured out.

Physical therapy is starting to work out. I can actually kick myself in the but again while stretching. I asked for a revamped schedule. Boy did I get it. 90 minutes later I limped to the truck, got home and barely got out of my clothes before I was in the hot tub. 90 days ago I could not huff to the mailbox without a stop. Now I am looking at running shoes. By Christmas!
