What Are You Doing Today?

Laundry today was just for vintage USA Harley Davidson bareback jeans, I just got from Poshmark. Tomorrow, the matching zip front USA made Harley corset vest arrives. I can't rid myself of that horrid waist fat, mistakenly called love handles, so I'll just compress it out of visual existence. :sneaky:

I had to call my cell company to change credit card number for autopay account. The agent I talked too two weeks ago, said he had changed it. Lying dog! Luckily I got it done before I got charges for late payment.

Tomorrow, I have to get things set up with mortgage company that took over my mortgage. That should do it, but I will be surprised if some company doesn't charge the old number and then get all out of shape over rejection.

Went out to lunch today and had great authentic Mexican food. No word yet from biopsy or Oncologist. Eyes still as wonky as ever. Most times, changing glasses helps by making eyes readjust, but sometimes a patch over my bad eye is the only way.
Arrrggghh !!!

Indeed. Where DOES all the laundry come from? Especially when it’s only one person? I started the washer at 5:30 this morning so I could get the clothes in the dryer on my way out the door to feed the horses. I don’t like running the dryer in the heat of the day in these kinds of temperatures.

These kinds of temperatures means our feels like is predicted to reach 110° for the rest of the week. I really hope that doesn’t happen but it’s a strong possibility. I have been fortunate to have quite a bit of cloud cover every day so that helps a lot.

I tip my hat to all of you who turn on your stoves and ovens in this weather. .I buy stuff I can either put in the air fryer (which I am learning to use) or in the microwave. I refuse to use the stove or the oven until it hits 50° out - I do not like to cook in case anybody hasn’t guessed that by now🤠🤠

@Faye Fox I LOVE the Harley tiny home! I don’t suppose there are pictures of the interior??

I wonder what the range is on a single tank of gas.
The trike Harley gets about 40 MPG, so with the added weight and wind resistance, I am guessing it drops considerably.

Yesterday was a hassle and everything seems to go wrong, regardless of all the extra effort I put out to make things go smoothly and timely. The Harley vest was a disappointment and went into the Goodwill box. I also ordered a bolero style shrug, for wearing under my vest this fall, and received high heels shoes. Big mess getting those back to seller.

Then, my Oncologist calls to move up my appointment in two weeks, to tomorrow. It can't be good news. I was unable to see anything but what lab test were done. The results are unavailable until doc sees me tomorrow. They did 8 test on each of 12 samples. Unlike MRI's, etc., where doctors read results and make a summation, this lab just sends their findings, without any impressions or comment, to the Oncologist.

So today, I will walk to PO to send off those unordered heels and then put out the garbage.

Wow, that sounds like a not so great start to your day, @Faye Fox . Hoping that the doctor visit turns out not to be anything bad, but it does seem strange that he is moving it up. However, it might be just that he is going on vacation, or something totally unrelated to you that he is moving up appointments for everyone. Let us know how it goes, and saying a prayer for you.

Those people have got to know the state of anxiety patients are in. We are all adults. Just tell us "The news doesn't look good," or "Don't read anything into this, I'm just switching appointments around." I believe that on MyChart the patient can tell it to repress bad news. But if you're used to getting test results and this time you see a blank, what are you gonna assume?

We're all praying for a positive outcome, Faye.

Getting old sucks. I recently told my GP that when I hit 60 I would take every test they had because men in my family die in their 50s, so I have no idea what a male of my genetic background might be at risk for at my age. Then I hit 70 and I procrastinate on optional tests I had previously embraced (like a second vascular screening) because at this point I don't want to go looking for trouble.

John ‘used to’ has changed. Patients have to catch on. If you do not understand a protocol ask. Bad news and bad news can be two cups of tea. SO had his CPC call after hours and schedule a cardio appointment for the next morning but pointed out to him this based on what she sees and it takes a specialist to determine everything.

Not having had insurance for a lot of years stopped me from getting any needed tests. I’ve had Medicare quite a few years, but after moving finding good gyn became the issue. By now, at 79, I figure I might as well keep on rolling without having had a Pap smear or a mammogram since 1998.

I watch what I eat to some degree — except for hard salami, I never could stand processed meats, probably my farm raising. I haven’t been a big meat eater for years. My tastes have changed to where I can now leave a bag of Hershey s kisses alone. I blame the taste change on concussion #3.

After three concussions and being on BP meds, I am prayerfully thankful to wake up every morning and be me. I leave well enough alone —- don’t poke the nest😇😇

It is a she, an she is a specialist in Gynecology and Urology as it applies to Oncology. They never move anyone up and she usually has another Urologist see patients to explain test results. It is unusual for her to do it, unless it requires a difficult decision and patients have questions that only she can answer from expertise in three fields.

It could be that she wants to tell me in person, that for the first time in over 30 years of her specialties, that she was wrong and there isn't any cancer. Somehow, I doubt it, but I always like to think of all possibilities. :sneaky:

Tonight's Powerball jackpot is a cool Billion dollars. So for a $10 ticket, I get to update my spreadsheet list of those folks that I will help, and those folks that won't get a ******** penny. You can guess which list is the longest. :ROFLMAO:

Cheap entertainment.
I was gonna buy 2 tickets today. Not that I want that much money, but when the main jackpot gets that high, the subordinate prizes get large as well. The daggone machine took my money, let me make my choices, then gave me a message that it could not do "draw games" (printing tickets as opposed to dispensing scratch-offs), and it printed a refund slip for my cash.

I don't play the lottery very often, but when I do, I always play draw games that have moderate prizes ($1 million or less) and the last 3 times I've hit $40 winners. I tend to win decent prizes ($250 or so) when others buy me tickets as payment for favors I've done. It's happened 3 times with 3 different people.

By the way: I've been doing spreadsheets since the 1980s and can help with yours if you like, Hoot. Mr. Crawford. My favorite member. Such a great poster. Sodium chloride of the friggin' Earth, I tell ya.

^^^^ Thank you very much for the kind words, even though said in jest!!
Well, it came from the heart...not the wallet.

It is interesting to see how windfalls have destroyed lives. That Powerball prize is insane. I took a look and there are 14 nations on the planet whose GDP is less than that prize.

One can only hope that there are multiple winners splitting it, for their own sake. I've only bought Powerball tickets a couple of times in my life, and every time I hoped that I win the second, third or fourth prize, and not the top one.
