What Are You Doing Today?

Don't know where else to put this, but got sad news a few minutes ago. I'm the youngest of 3 "boys", and my middle brother passed away last night al a little before midnight. He was 82 and had been in declining health for a few months. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, and by his 3 children and innumerable grand kids and great grands. He and I had talked together at least once a week for the past few years. I can't describe the sense of loss.

His wishes were to be cremated with no service of any kind.
I'm so sorry about the loss of your brother, Hoot. Losing a brother or sister is like losing a part of yourself. You share memories that no one else shares.

I got all my stuff from WeatherTech and spent a lot of time installing the things on my car. The floorliners are amazing; the fit is just perfect and everything looks nice. It was hot in the garage so I got all sweaty and crabby, but that seems to be my MO lately.

We also unpacked the heavy rubber "parking curb" for the garage floor, to keep me from driving through the cabinets in the garage. It is 72" long and still too short for both tires to hit it.

Here's the space I have to work with when the car is in the garage with the door closed...

WE were making homemade ice cream- until everything went wrong. It would Not get thick, Mark fretted and was crabby . We have neighbors coming for the ice cream tomorrow. Mark forgot to put the paddle in:D:(😁
So we both worked at getting the ice cream into other bowls and pitchers. Dumped ice a bucket.
Put paddle in then began dropping half frozen ice cream into maker. Turned it on, an managed to burn up the gears in the motor.
Sigh.. just bought it last year $100 !
He hand cranked it until hardened. What a mess and aggravation. When people around here help you out they don't want our money..they want out ice cream! Somehow we will have to get repaired---or buy a new one..
Also he just had to have soil sample done on garden.
Too much lime is killing it all. Says takes a year to correct and grow. We already spent $$on the dang garden.
Oh happy day- I am sure life could be much worse 🤩

You have more space than most gals in their jeans.

You can always buy ice cream, let it come to room temperature and add chopped fruit steeped in sugar.

Big mess at the farm. Hydrant was leaking and had to dig it out and found air escaping from the pipe, not gas, thank goodness. but we need a new pressure tank. We have a tiny utility closet that I was told was too small to get a new tank in or out.
Man's suggestion? we can take out the stairs.
?!?!?!!!
Not happening. my suggestion is to take out the water heater and then re=install. It is 13 years old but of good quality. Gas power vent. Or put in a new one? Lots of money changing hands here. Even if we changed to electric which would be a cheaper unit, paying an electrician would make it more expensive?
Oh, and I made a marble cake for daughter's birthday tomorrow.:D

We had the same ting happen with our hot water tank. They put it in a closet in the kitchen and the doorway was too small to get the tank out of the closet. Bobby ended up getting one of those small instant hot water things that does not have a tank, and we have used that for the last 4-5 years now.
This last year, Bobby took out the wall and the doorway and removed the old hot water tank, so we now have storage in the closet. We have been really happy with how well the instant hot water things water thing works.

My friend in Georgia has one like you ,I think, and they really like it, had it for a couple years now.

I’ve been busy catching up on washing , stripped our bed washed sheets , cause hubs wanted to rotate the newish mattress ….
I made 3 fabric cup coasters with hubs footy team logo embroidered on them today …even cleaned my mess up after making them …

We are going to neighbours for tea , it’s neighbours birthday 🎂 in a few days …...think he’s 67 about that …a real young one compared to us oldies 🤣🤣🤣

Some laundry, picked up prescriptions, hit the Dollar Tree but their solar lights were just too pitiful. I must e a solar light snob non. :ROFLMAO:

Speaking of which... Yesterday I got might red/white/blue string out. Strung it on the hedgerow along the front of the house. Opened up the head unit and replaced the meager NiMH AA cell it came with with a higher-capaicty better quality one after charging it to 75%. Today we got a lot of sunlight, despite the forecast of gloom and indeed a slow start this morning.

Played "the solar panels dance" today, not putting them all out to chase the Sun. But I did catch around 4K Watt-Hours to use up with the PC, fridge, indoor lighting, etc.

I luv planning/making a list for the day !

Shower 🚿
Breakfast ...this morning it's egg bites at Tim Horton with a cappuccino
Laundry
Housework
Look at plants that I have done ....maybe plant zucchini and my herb seeds
Make lunch idk yet what to do
Relax in the backyard
Have supper ( burgers on bb Q )
Do dishes
Go outside a bit
Watch some tv ....the series Madison
Bedtime 🌙
I'm sure something unexpected will happen 😂

Have a great day ! ☺️

I suggested that too but plumber did not think it would be enough for all the showers the kids take.
