What Are You Doing Today?

I think I commented a few days ago that I got 2 letters within a few weeks of each other of databases containing my info getting hacked. One of them was a place that does medical billing for practices, so they have my SSN, my Medicare info, my Supplemental Insurance info, my cell#, etc. The other was from a town I lived in for over 45 years but left in 2010. Since I paid real estate taxes to them and vehicle registration (on top of state & county), they had whatever data they needed for that stuff. You would think they'd archive the old stuff and get it off of the main servers.
All ID Thieves need is your full name and the last 4 numbers of your social security card. And the more common your name is, the higher the chances of your ID being stolen. The SSA office told us that my sons ID had been stolen by a woman in Oregon, who worked at a school he used to go to over 25 years ago.

I had heard somewhere (here?) that the current Medicare fraud scheme is where the fraudsters get your data and then bill Medicare for in-patient living expenses (hospice care & stuff like that.) I've looked online. Nothing has hit my Medicare account yet.
That's what I like about the CMS reports they mail out every three months. If there is anything in one of those that I had nothing to do with, I report it immediately.

Both places offered free identity protection services for a year. I've locked down my credit reports and will sign up for those.
Good idea, if you can afford it, but specially if it's free. (y)

Our credit card company got hacked and the offered us a year free, then about a month before that year was up Target got hacked, and we got another one. Sweet!

My main concern is my mortgage being paid off. It makes me a target. When I first moved to this rural county I was in the courthouse and stuck my head in the land records office and asked the folks if there were any title fraud issues they were aware of. They looked at me as though they had no idea what I was talking about (stupid city boy), so I guess the answer is "No."

I didn't do all that much today. I watched a few Game of Thrones episodes, ate some homemade "Spaghilagna" (That a bowl that is half full of Spaghetti and half full of Lasagna. It was better than I thought it would be.) But what I came to talk about is Valentines Day 1985. What is the significance of that day?

Well my son just walked in and said "Happy Anniversary, Dad" and we both had a good laugh. You see, 41 years ago today I stood in front of a Justice of the Peace and said "I do." And immediately after that I thought "YOU WHAT?!?" But it was too late. I got Legally Married on Valentines Day. We went home, bluffed our way through a po folks Honeymoon and I left about 7:00p to go to work.

The first year was great. We were a happy newly wed couple. Or at least I thought we were. After finishing a gig at 1:00a somewhere in southern Oregon, and packing up the gear and driving back home, I parked my van behind my house and started walking to my backdoor. It was 4:00a. Then I saw my wife's shadow on the window blinds, and it was obvious she was not making the bed... I just turned around and got back in my van and went to a hotel.

I stayed on the road for about two months. I had to cool my jets and had no desire to go home and argue with her. When I finally went home she was all smiles, "How was the road, honey?" I didn't say a word. I didn't even look at her. I just gathered my stuff and put it in my van. I went back in the house and she was still standing in the same spot. She started asking me to stay. I said "No. I will call you in a few weeks to see if you have put all the bills for this house in your name. If you don't answer, I will assume you're gone." I set my wedding ring on the table and left.

I called her about a month later and she was gone. So I called all of the utilities and turned every thing off. A few weeks later we when on a planned 40 week "tour" and hit the road. After 39 years, when anyone asks if I am married, I just smile and say...

"Yes, I am. I've been happily married since 1988. I haven't seen the b***h once." 🔥

Like your older sister, I'm hanging in there. I know I'm good until at least thru the end of May, because my heart doc and lung doc both scheduled test in the middle of the month 🙃

I seldom go to doctors, last one was er 2024 for virus going around, he did blood test, all ok, lungs mild COPD, although since I haven]t been able to do my trail walks from squats crippling me, coughing more.
In the 60's cigarette's were being highly pushed on Boomers, especially women, I bought my very first pack of cig's at 12 yr's old from dish washing job, as did my friend.

I had an MRI yesterday with a contrast dye (trying to figure out this ear issue), and because of a previous mild reaction to the iodine, I have to take steroids and Benadryl before the procedure. The Benadryl knocked me on my butt (but helped me relax in the machine), and I crashed for several hours after I got home.

You need to start a thread on your ear issue so we will know what's going on. When do you get the MRI results?

Well, this morning (Valentines Day), we got a 1-year membership into RMEF (Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation), as well as getting me a RMEF long-sleeve light blue, button-down collar shirt and my wife a nice sweatshirt. A major thing we miss about northern Colorado is seeing Bull and Cow Elk. We don't hunt, but absolutely love seeing them grazing and/or mounts in Scheels, Bass Pro and Sportsman's Warehouse. We have nothing against hunting. Later, South Point Hotel/Casino to celebrate Valentines Day.

Not a damn thing- nada, nothing, zero. the dog continues to wake us up in the middle of the night,so we are sleepy. Marks has been down in his back for a week and still can not get in to see the chioco, doctor, who has several jobs and seldom in the office. My back issue has been a real pain last few days, and aside from napping off and on, have done nothing either.
It is very cloudy and gloomy, rained earlier today- so the energy level is at zero today.;)

My wife was gone, driving someone somewhere, when I got up so I worked on my directory job until she got home. She was in a crabby mood so I did the masculine thing and went for a walk.

After a 30-minute walk, I am at McDonald’s eating a small order of fries and drinking a coffee; and will then walk home another way and go back to work, but on another floor.

I know how you feel, no rest to speak of since muscle injury.
They said online it could take from 3 to 6 months to heal, I'm already past 3.

Cars around here get to be a filthy mess in the winter, so this being a warmer day, off I went to the car wash. I turns out my car is white but I wasn't sure until today.
I bet it's difficult to see all the snow on a white car. We have a white car, but there ain't no snow around here. It bein' on the edge of the Mojave Desert and all. Summer is Coming... 🥵

Not much..I laid down and day... I have had some cold or something and I still dont feel well... coughing,etc...

I do not like how people do not cover thier mouth when they sneeze.. If someone is sick and coughing alot, where a bloody mask so ya dont spread it!!

April, I hope your feeling better today. I was on the phone alot yesterday so lots of interruptions.

I'm on my way to Walmart to get some pool shock and a box of tapioca. Thanks to the pudding discussion in the Supper thread, I am determined to make tapioca today. I'm sure I'll come home with a bunch of other things I didn't realize I needed, especially if they have the summer shorts on display.

Well, if this isn't weird. There was no tapioca at Walmart, so I stopped at a Food Town on my way home. No tapioca. After I got home I checked HEB and Kroger websites... no tapioca in stock locally. What the heck?? Is tapioca passe' now or what? They all had those refrigerated pudding cups of tapioca pudding, but no plain tapioca. I have a couple of fruit pie recipes that call for tapioca so I know people must still use it.
