What Are You Doing Today?

I'm making breadcrumbs today to freeze. I already have my loaf bread made. It is cooling so I can add them to my food processor and then to a sheet pan to bake/toast and dry out.
Krystal, have you tried toasting your bread first? This seems to make a finer crumb depending on what you size them.

That's what I said I was doing after the loaf of bread cooled. I process my bread in a food processor to get a fine crumb, and then I spread the crumbs out on a sheet pan and bake them until they are dried and toasted. THEN..... after the crumbs cool, I again, process them to a very fine crumb. Some of the crumbs I leave a tad larger to make panko. Bag and freeze. As I need bread crumbs, I add my own seasonings, depending on the dish I am making.

Thank you for clarifying Krystal.

I was weeding in the garden a bit today. Even I have some weeds I don't like but if you are interested in useful weeds, I found this. I also paid some bills and thought about making a carrot cake because it is supposed to be cool tonite.

Interesting video. I think the narration was AI since some of the pronunciation was strange. We have several of the plants mentioned here, but not all will survive here. The mention of Benedictine monks brings to mind the Brother Cadfael novels about an herbalist in a monastery in Shrewsbury, England in the late 12th century. PBS also had a few of the books in video, but they are not as good as the books, of course.

My iPad has lost its Internet umbilical cord. Since I have tried everything with no success, me thinks I’m gonna have to carry it with me to the Verizon store Monday. I am not messing with it anymore.

I also am not staying on this cell phone very long. I am dictating so if spelling is bad, I apologize. AI is going to print what it thinks I said, which isn’t always clean or anywhere near correct.

Dewpoint is 70° humidity is 90 something percent. That means I am sweating through my head when I go to the barn.

On a high point, my brother and sister-in-law were down here over memorial weekend and did they ever work their butts off, fixing stuff that needed fixed that I can’t do myself anymore. Including some things that I couldn’t have done anyway.

My horse loves my sister-in-law. He puts his head over the rail for her to scratch his chin, when he’s done with that, he turns around so she can scratch his butt. Lucky for him she knows what he wants lol.

I was filling the water tubs and decided to pull some five leaf shiny vines from behind the tub that were growing up the side of the barn. That was a mistake by the time I got up to the house the lower part of my arm was itching like Hades, red and swollen lol O L.

I honestly thought I was immune to stuff since I have lived here 20 years and haven’t caught anything in terms of poison rashes.

I washed it off with Dawn dish soap, sprayed some silver honey on it, cut the toe out of an old stretched out, white sock and pulled it over my arm for a protective sleeve. That way I won’t get whatever that crap is all over the rest of me.

That is my hack for the week. If anybody reads this, I save old white socks that are stretched out. They come in handy for dusting they come in handy for cutting the Tow out and using them as a sleeve on rashes, they also come in handy to clean the sheath of the horses.

Oh yes, that’s what else we did over memorial weekend lol lol. The lady who owns the Arab came and we did sheath Cleaning, those of you that have horses. I’m pretty sure some of you have had to do that despicable job, on your geldings😂😂

She got two beans out of her Arab that were the size of plum pits. No wonder he was miserable, dropping down all the time and rubbing his butt against the barn wall.

With that, I will end my conversation that I said I was never coming back, but I guess I will because I do like this forum. Can’t say the same for the other one.

Monday is the chiropractor and spinal decompression if I want to keep walking. And if I feel like it, I really need to go get red diesel for the tractor.

I hope everyone has a great week🤠😇🤠😇

What has happened with your iPad, @Connie Bennett ? When you say it “lost its umbilical cord”, do you mean it won’t charge, or it works fine but won’t connect to the internet ? Is it a WiFi problem ? Have you tried using the hot spot on your phone to connect ?
I am sending sympathy for having to do this with your phone ! Even with voice to text, it is not that great, but they do make external keyboards that will work with the phone to make typing easier.

I cut my acreage today. 2 hours on the Zero Turn versus the 4 1/2 to 5 hours my tractor used to take me.

Now I'm watching the John Wayne movie where he's the sheriff trying to fight the bad guys while rehabilitating his alcoholic deputy and getting help from a young stranger who is named after a state. This is different from the other John Wayne movie where he's the sheriff trying to fight the bad guys while rehabilitating his alcoholic deputy and getting help from a young stranger who is named after a state because in this one Dean Martin is the drunk deputy and Ricky Nelson is the stranger named Colorado, and in the other movie Robert Mitchum is the drunk deputy and James Caan is the stranger named Mississippi. Plus, James Caan can't sing. Neither can Robert Mitchum. So they're completely different movies.

Maybe I'll see if golf is on.

Cloudy and gloomy out. Went to the n town store here got a few things. Made a lemon dump cake, air fried some chicken, The chicken is basically for sandwiches.
heating pad off and on all-day. I get a little done here and there ;)
Hedi, my knee and calf were in severe pain and this patch made it feel so much better!
My son is visiting now, and he has arthritis in his elbow and lower back. He used one and said it really helped! be sure to read all the cautions.

My husband was watching John Wayne war movies on Memorial Day. 🤣

Hi Connie!! I knew you couldn't leave us!! (I'm glad you're back.)

Ever since I heard that Wayne did not like Clint Eastwood's cowboy characters, I've not been a fan. Wayne thought his characters to be a more accurate portrayal of authentic cowboys than Eastwood's, and even sent Eastwood a letter telling him so. Morally pure characters vs morally ambivalent, each products of their time and--of course--neither a reflection of reality. It's acting, for goodness sake.

Fun Fact: Eastwood weighed 11 pounds 6 ounces at birth.

Today I'm very grateful that the storm last night was not as fearsome as anticipated. Not so for people living near the coast though. Widespread damage and power outages reported.

There was a time after many seaside vacations, I told my husband that it would be nice to live permanently by the ocean. So glad now that we didn't go through with it!

I have many books on weed uses. I cured my lymes disease by what I found in one. Lots to know. I can't remember it all. Early prepper knowledge. ;)

I find it is much easier and faster to have my daughter mow my acreage.;) All I have to do is pretend I am an old lady with a bad leg.

Glad to see you back. I remember the first sheath cleaning I did. I think I put on gloves and a gas mask with eye protection. Later, I just reached in and dealt with business. Funnier when done in front of people who don't know horses.:sneaky:

I'm packing for a week-long trip. Only taking a carry-on on the flight, so every square inch counts.

I'm not good at "packing triage". Will I need this article of clothing? Maybe...maybe not. But-but-but....what if I dooooo???

I really admire those who can pack for a six-week African safari in a tote bag. I am NOT that person.

I have it zipped, but if you hear a big bang Tuesday morning, it's my carry-on exploding.

Let's not even discuss what's in my purse.....

I was at a graduation party for a friend's son the other day. He has 5 kids and 7 acres. He had an old riding mower that the kids would use in shifts because it was so slow. Now that the youngest is almost aging out, he got a zero turn. I told him he was not gonna get any Father's Day cards for pulling that stunt.
