"Avocado leaves, particularly from the Mexican variety (Persea drymifolia), are aromatic herbs used in Mexican cuisine, offering a unique anise, licorice, or hazelnut flavor."I saw one Mexican cook say that avocado leaves can be used in a similar way to bay leaves; you put them in the dish then remove them before eating. He said they are not generally commercially available so they are seldom mentioned in recipes. A different flavor from bay though apparently. Something I didn't know, but maybe those of you with avocado leaves could try it and see if it works on some small dish.
I have the same problem, only with beetroot juice.I like Aldi but the biggest drawback is that if you find something you like, they won't get it back in stock and you'll never see it again.
What does beetroot juice taste like?I have the same problem, only with beetroot juice.
I grocery shop at ShopRite, and they have a certain brand I like, but it's sometimes weeks at a time when they don't have it in stock, so I'm forced to buy a different brand that taste like, well, beets. Ugh.
What am I doing — cleaning —— cleaning —- and CLEANING some more. This after I spent what seemed like several hundred dollars at the grocery store
.
My precious younger brother will be here tomorrow - Saturday. I haven’t seen him in 18 months. He is going to fix some things for me that are either beyond my repair expertise or my arthritic hands won’t let me do. I only have to pay him for parts, so the big grocery bill is a win-win
I need to put the bedroom he sleeps in back to looking like a respectable place to sleep. What used to take me an hour, now takes half a day, breaks included.
My most welcome lunch break will be feeding the horses. I have to feed the horses lunch these days because the 30-ish Warmblood is too thin. He gets Triple Crown Senior in a wet mash, while the much overweight Arab gets 1/3 the amount in a mix of Timothy pellets & Triple Crown Lite in a wet mash.
It is also prime pine pollen season — that yellow pollen dust that settles on cars, in the horses outdoor water tubs, and in my nose. Thankfully all I need is Vicks in my nostrils to keep from sneezing my head off.
The cold front is slowly moving in from the north, temps are dropping, it’s clouding over with rain clouds. We have a frost advisory tonight. That means turn the heaters back on, in three of the water tubs. I leave one tub without warm water, the horses can pick what they want.
Today I am making a half batch of walnut cookies for my husband, doing some laundry, fixin' Chili later on, and that's about it.
Bummer....Got an email that FedEx was coming and required a signature, somewhere from 9:40AM-2:00PM. However I also had a Cardiologist appt. for 2:45.
So I got prepared for the appointment, and lurked around awaiting FedEx. Driver showed up by 10:15, sort of miraculous. So then I dawdled around not about to get much done until I decided at 1:45 to head downtown for the appt. - if a little early. My vision isn't up to lunch hour traffic and I wanted to take the easy way in.
Pulled in, parked, as I was parking phone rang. I parked, checked, no message but it was the office. Called back, got "voice jail" so since I'm right here, go on in. Right?
Got up to the receptionist, she fumbled a bit. I asked "Did you call?" Yep. Turns out the Doc had an emergency... so they'll call me to reschedule.
Back to the car, fight with the parking gate kiosk set at monster truck height, and bumbled my way home.
Shot the crap out of most of my day.
Hey, I need to get my money's worth out of this cane, so I'm waving it at the sky.Bummer....
