Shopping--What did you buy?

I've not placed an Amazon order in a long time, and had a backlog in my Wish List. I just ordered a bunch of miscellaneous stuff:

-CoQ10 to replace the [potentially] corrupted product a rogue Amazon seller provided
-An illustrated Catholic Bible discussed in a vid that @Don Alaska posted in @Von Jones Bible Study thread
-Some medical supplies
-A digital bathroom scale (my old mechanical one won't hold Zero)
-A new kitchen scale (my Taylor is acting flaky)
-Repair parts for my vacuum seal and sous vide machines
-Motion-activated lights recommended by @Jacob Petersheim
-Eveready button batteries at a really good price with decent expiry dates

I bought a new grill a couple of weeks ago...it's only the second new (not used) one I've purchased in my life. I rarely leave reviews, but there's a special feature on this one that's kind of over-hyped, so I figured I'd point it out for others. When I went to Lowe's website to leave a review, I saw the thing was marked down $80 for Memorial Day Sales. A quick web search found that Lowes offers 30 days post-sale Price Protection/Competitor Price Match, so I got an $80 credit to my Lowes card. Now I'm glad I didn't buy the smaller, cheaper one.

I've not been this happy to see $80 since I worked for minimum wage. :giggle:

4 burners, including one that's supposed to sear. The sear burner is hotter than the other 3, but it does not really sear...it just cooks faster. I did a sous vide steak last night and tried to finish it on the sear burner. It came out alright, but would have overcooked if I left it on long enough to get a decent crust. Other than that, I like it. I almost bought a smaller grill, but I always bulk-cook and freeze leftovers, so went with the large one (I have a family pak of 8-9 huge chicken thighs brining right now to grill tonight.) There is no storage underneath (no doors.) The igniter is the battery-operated version rather than the mechanical piezoelectric version (which can wear out.) No side burner, but I never use those, anyway, so appreciate having the second shelf.

Regular price $279, on sale through 5/27 for $199. Have them assemble it for you. It's kind of a pain in the butt.

Thank you! I will let SO know.

Last week I bought this on a Member's Special at Harbor Freight:

62860_W3.jpg

I'm gonna use it for my tractor to free up garage space. I've yet to decide where I'm gonna put it.

It's interesting how some/many products can have such divergent reviews. "Didn't last a year" versus "Been using it for 6 years and it's in great shape."

One guy covered his with tarps. I gotta think that the added cost might get you close to building something hard-sided. Another guy coated the top with roofing sealant. I might do that.

That should help to keep the bird :poop: off your mirrors! 😃

I did my part to support American workers by ordering a bunch of Weathertech car mats, door sill protectors, a bumper guard, and a pair of "fueling gloves".

I also ordered a "parking stopper rubber curb" for the garage floor because my new vehicle just barely fits in there. Husband built cabinets along the back wall of the garage years ago so that limits space for parking.
