Shopping--What did you buy?

I went thrifting yesterday specifically to find some sweatpants for when I'm doing yard work or diying mainly for comfort. During my search I came to the conclusion that 'sweatpants' have been exchanged for leggins or what they are called now 'slicks' in thrifts store (not sure about Goodwill, didn't extend my search that far). I learned this from asking an employee in the men's active wear.

At another thrift store, determined to find 'sweatpants', after thumbing through the isles of women's active wear, I found three pair of 'actual' sweatpants, two were discounted 50% which was $5.00 a pair. I was very pleased knowing that I would not have found one pair for the cost of three in retail stores or online.

During my four hour excursion between the two stores I did find other useful items mainly for my granddaughters when they are out of school for the summer. Games that I use to play outdoors. I'm always surprised when I come across items that remind me of 'them old days.'
 
Another mid-scale battery powerstation. 2048 Watt-Hours, nothing like the sort of unit you'd wire into the house permanently, but able to carry substantial loads through outages and periods of high electricity rates by time-shifting power.

This will help me get full use from the solar panels I already have on days with excellent sunshine.

All of this portable gear helps keep me active, lifting weight and carrying it about. It would be impractical for somebody with a job, but at 70 I'm here all day anyway. Even as far as yard work goes I charge my mower, trimmers, blowers, leaf grinders, etc. from sunlight.

Rooftop solar wouldn't work here due to tall trees. I see the whole thing as a hobby and fitness program. :ROFLMAO:

I recently ordered a Staub pasta server (to match my other Staub utensils) and noticed that it was sold by Amazon-Japan! That happened to me once before when I ordered a Staub cast iron pot. They shipped it free (Prime) from Japan! (I was not shopping on the Japanese storefront but on the regular Amazon.com).
 
A 2 CD set "Eagles - Complete Greatest Hits."

I still hold physical media. My car doesn't play CDs these days, but I can rip to MP3 and the car can search and play from USB storage or my phone.
 
I ordered a bit of stuff from TEMU , mainly gardening stuff ,and 6 elastic / lightly stretch knee supports, chilly weather fast approaching it’s not being kind to my left knee .

All type of cheap shops used to sell that type of stuff , cheap.as chips , (our major cheap shop) , went into receivership ,so the shops are empty )it’s been bought by a Queensland firm .

Cheap as Chips has hundreds of employees and runs stores in South Australia, victoria and NSW. The administrators say 44 of the 47 stores will remain open if the proposed acquisition by …..Choice The Discount Store proceeds.

We also have The reject shop …but they are not what you’d call a cheap shop anymore
So it will be interesting what the one that’s coming to replace CAC will be like …
 
I am going to have to go out and buy a coffee maker today. As I was washing my coffee pot this morning, a large piece of glass cracked and fell right out of the bottom of the pot into my sink. I haven't had this new coffee maker all that long; maybe 3 months. :mad: There must have been a weak spot in the glass is all I can come up with. I am about ready to get a cheap Mr. Coffee Maker and see how that works. All I want is a good tasting HOT cup of coffee in the morning.
