Word is that Republicans are starting to think like Democrats in terms of strategy. The House caucus is talking of not passing any Democrat-backed bills until the SAFE Act is passed. The Republicans in the Senate are talking of the "Taking Filibuster" being used, which is how the Republicans pushed the Civil Rights Act" past the Democrat opposition. We'll see. I am sure that those "tens of millions" are mostly illegal Democrat voters and that is why Schumer is so upset.
He believes he is playing to his "supporters". I heard a story about a lawyer in New York City who had just gotten his first job and he was amazed that "they took half my paycheck!". He did vote for Mamdani. I remember my kids saying similar things, but less of their pay. They were amazed at how much was withheld from their pay.

I think it can certainly happen here, as the American form of government is the most dangerous. I have brought up before that every nation that has instituted and "American" form of government has been a dictatorship at some time in their history and the ones who have gone away form dictatorship were usually taken there by U.S. intervention. The Biden Administration was totally incompetent, but they took us a long way in that direction and, had there been competent people at the top, we might well be there now. If some of his cabinet had been chosen for competence and ability instead of race, sex, sexual orientation, etc., the Covid mess would have been the perfect time to institute a dictatorship as so many people were scared to death-and many still are--and would do, or allow the government to do, almost anything. We are somewhat protected by the first two amendments to our Constitution, but so much of our Constitution has been pushed aside already that the ones that protect us from tyranny may well be on the chopping block in the future.

I am all for wearing a mask to protect yourself when compromised @Beth Gallagher. Your immune system has been depressed, so you are subject to different things, and I am pro surgeons and other OR personnel wearing masks as well. since you are protecting a patient from bacterial infection. Extremely infectious viruses are a different situation. From one article I read. there is not a single documented case of Covid transmission occurring outside either. The vaccines were "leaky" vaccines also, so those vaccinated often essentially became carriers of the virus and sometimes did not them selves get sick, the exact opposite of the situation depicted in the media. The vaccinated were spreading the virus, not the non-vaxxed.
We have the largest, most insidious, global propaganda machine ever unleashed. Our "education systems" have created unthinking consumers of it.
