Problems With Your Purchase?

Both these appliances broke down in 2 years and one month.
The quality of LG products have gone way down hill in recent years. In 2012 I bought a 24" monitor for my PC, and it still works fine as long as I leave it and my PC running. But when I turn the PC off, the internal power supply for the monitor acts up. I would have to reboot it every time the PC went into Sleep Mode or the PC got turned off. Which is minor, but still annoying. I couldn't find a reasonably priced replacement, and in the end it was cheaper to buy a new monitor. So I bought two new LG 27" monitors to go with the laptops I bought just before Christmas in 2024. One Laptop failed, so I returned it. I bought one for myself and one for my son, and after a year and two months, still hasn't even used it. So I turned in my MP4 and DVD player and Streaming TV. Basically, these monitors are updated versions of the I bought in 2012.

However, in 2023, after we moved I bought an LG 43" Smart TV, and once you get it set up, and have set up a cheap universal remote, it works well. But the remote that came with it is a piece of junk. It has some kind of Air Mouse thing built into it, and that does not work very well for twitchy people like myself. That was the first thing about it that I didn't like, but a $10 remote from Wally solved that for the most part. The thing I really don't like about it is if the power goes off, it loses it settings. And I keep all of these kind of things on power strips and turn the power off when they're not in use. So all I use it for is a PC monitor.

We purchase a Bosch Dishwasher from Costco and are waiting for the installation this coming Monday.
Don't forget about Costco's 90 day limit on appliance returns. It's one of those things you don't have 10 Years to return at Costco.

P

Sure it's a good sterilizer.😊
LOL!!

Dunno if you've ever watched Princess Bride (I botched the quote.)

Bobby just ordered a battery from Amazon that was supposed to fit our truck, and they sent one that is the wrong size and is too large for where it is supposed to fit. When he went to see about returning it, he was told he has to return it at his own expense, and the cost was more than he paid for the battery !
We have never had Amazon say that before, and I think that we should at least try taking it back to their return center at Whole Foods and see if we can return it that way.
Otherwise, it looks like @Bobby Cole will be keeping it as a spare battery for something. He can explain the whole thing better than I can , but we will definitely be checking more closely when ordering from amazon in the future.
Amazon is changing with the rest. I order windshield wiper blades specifically for my car and they sent the wrong ones and I was supposed to pay to return them. Pretty sure they will fit something around here eventually so I asked Santa for some because she works at Menards. ;)

If I had access to a Menards employee discount, I would be broke. I've ordered from them online, but I think their easternmost store is somewhere in West Virginia (I'm in Virginia.)

We purchased the replacement dishwasher at Costco's. They had a good price including delivery and installation. Without going into all the details we had a problem with the installation so it never got installed. We rescheduled for this Monday hopefully it'll all go well.

My husband gets a Veterans discount at Lowes stores. He has spent many an hour there, using his discount. Lowes closed its doors in our town and moved it to a larger building in another town. Now he is always at Menards.

A Home Depot finally opened up about 25 miles from me. Lowes does not carry a lot of DeWalt stuff, but since Home Depot opened up I bought a DeWalt pole saw, a DeWalt circular saw, and a DeWalt floodlight. I now own 2 DeWalt battery chargers and have 5 batteries. It's like having one potato chip...

Just a follow up on the battery debacle:

I wrote a nicely (well…kinda nice) worded message to the seller last night and BEHOLD, the wonderful Mighty Max Battery co. sent me another label so I can return that 50# boat anchor back for free.
You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar, but the flies are still dirty little buggers.

We purchased the replacement dishwasher at Costco's.
I used to do that for everything I bought at Costco (except food of course), but after spending a lot of money on maintenance agreements and almost never using them, I realized that the only products they sell that you might need them for are the ones with limited return times. With many things that it's easier and cheaper in the long run to just return them if they fail and buy another one. In Eureka we know a guy who was a Customer Service Manager and he told us we pay for that option with our membership fees.

This morning, the servicemen came and installed our replacement dishwasher. The installation went very smoothly. However, they found one of the hoses going to our kitchen sink has a leak.☹️ I'm waiting for a return call from our plumber to schedule a repair for it.
Interesting turn of events where your dishwasher problem led to finding something that could have caused some damage.

Yep! We have no clue how long it's been leaking. It's just dripping, but dripping in time can do as much damage as a stream. It's in a spot where there was no visible evidence in the kitchen cabinet, we might find some watermarks in the basement, which we rarely go down.
