Today September 29 is Michaelmas.
The sun is shining on the Michaelmas daisies in my garden. They signify the end of summer.

It's not like the end of summer though is it? We've had glorious weather . Still able to put laundry out and sit a while in the sunshine.
Hoping that we get an Indian summer in October ! It makes the winter much shorter.

Walking along local streets yesterday, I saw clumps of Michaelmas daisies in many gardens, blooming bright among the autumn leaves. Most other flowers have gone.
Several universities in the UK call this Michaelmas Term.
