Let’s Talk About Diets!

2 years from 24 to 8/10, not a wiggle in 2026 but I am where I want to be. No diet, no exercise, no pills/shots. Just eating until I am not hungry. No, I will not give up my three or so glasses of wine at night nor my 1/2 cinnamon roll with the first coffee. There has to be some fun! It cost SO a fortune in shoes and clothes and jewelry repair.
I did give up something - stressing over pleasing everyone.

I am still eating mostly plant-based, but felt like my energy level was not as good as normal, so I am adding in some dairy foods like yogurt and cottage cheese, and I think that is helping me to have more energy.
I am going to be having the Creami ice cream, which will be made with added fiber foods like the oatmeal and maybe even try one of those bean protein smoothies and see how they come out in the Ninja Creami.

I am comfortable with what i am eating, only eating when I am hungry, and sticking with Whole Foods and not processed ones. Losing some weight, but slowly; although since I am exercising more, I think I am also building up muscle.
I was really happy that my cholesterol dropped from 200 to 185 and in such a short time after I started the whole food plant based program.

Isn't 4 glasses of wine a full bottle of wine? 🍷🍷🍷🍷 No wonder you aren't stressed.:ROFLMAO:
You are absolutely correct. But I grew up in wine country. Wine and mineral water is on the table for everyone. Kids learn about the what//why of wine without hiding behind the barn with Manechvitz (spelling?)
A glass for happy hour, a glass with dinner and a glass discussing who does clean up, next day’s projects or just a lecture in cloud formations.
My blood tests which are a bit expanded are too good.

Diet. I did best on Dr Berg's 'healthy keto'.
Fat is not my enemy--sugar and processed foods are.
I never used to eat breakfast until someone told me it was the most important meal of the day. It isn't. And then breaking the breakfast habit was a bit of a chore. If you eat your last bite of food at, say 6, intermittent fasting is easy. 6pm to 6am is 12 hours. You spend most of it sleeping. Then eat lunch at noon--that's 18 hours right there. Protein stays with you, simple carbs don't and make you hungry faster. A few eggs and some veggies can make an attractive plate. Same with some meat or fish and veggies for dinner.
If you eat that way you will find fasting much easier. If you eat sugar and carbs you will crash and be much hungrier sooner.
I am mostly on that eating plan although I don't give it much thought as we don't stock high carbs any more.
I do take a lot of supplements though.

My daughter and I were just talking about Dr. Berg this morning.

I miss my wine and beer, although taking the Tylenol for pain put an end to that.
