It's the 1980's, what are you doing?

How wonderful is that, Jacqueline!

I'll call up Milly and Katey, and we'll be over with tea and homemade goodies!

to my idea of neat and tidy presentation
Lovely story, Katey!

Jacqueline, I know I missed your baby shower so am dropping by this morning to drop off a baby gift.

A box of Pampers, a package of water-filled teethers, a plastic baby bib, and rubber pants!

What everyone paying out for babysitting rates?

I'm definitely behind the times on what I pay compared to other moms, but I have my two occasional babysitter's still at .50¢ an hour but often top-up their evening pay with a little extra when I can.

My mom, SIL, and one of my baby sisters, 3 years my junior, are my regular go-to babysitters, but on occasion when those three are busy with other things and can't babysit, or I need a babysitter on super short notice, I'll call up Tracy or Daneen.

February 1985, proud mom of a kicking and wailing baby boy!

I'm exhausted, so my mom is here for a few days to help with everything and to allow me to get a little extra rest.

Diaper laundry is going to be extra now with two babies wearing diapers, and when it comes to folding, diapers will need to be folded to fit two different sized babies.

Sewing clothes for the four of us.

Gosh, Milly, I remember my mom sewing all the time. She did all of the alterations and mending needed, and she made all of our Halloween costumes from scratch.

Sure, there was a few years where store-bought Halloween masks and costumes made their way into out home, but for the most part we had homemade costumes, and awesome ones, too!

Dealing with diaper rash today.

Time to switch over to using snap-on rubber pants instead of the pull-on ones for a few days. These diaper pants work wonders in helping to allow for more air to circulate in and out of a baby's diapers, helping to keep baby's bottom cooler and less damp.

Hated these rubber pants (my old babysitting days)... hate them as a mom. Can't stand having to fuss with the snaps at every diaper change.
