I've been seeing journalists commenting on A.I. adoption, and there does seem to be a divide. Older people are more wary, but women of all ages seem almost fearful.
Reese Witherspoon is under attack now for her remarks encouraging and admonishing women to "Learn to use A.I." though she's mainly addressing her remarks to Hollywood.
The chaotic, incoherent, rapid-fire emotional invective from old cat ladies, middle-aged karens, and bull-ringed bluehairs alike is hilarious! They seem to be responding to Witherspoon's "target market" remarks (about Hollywood) with no awareness that A.I. is coming after their jobs first. Paper-pushing and jibber-jabber will be the first jobs to go.
I can see how something one can't define, much less comprehend, might be scary. But why do people think that attacking the messenger is a socially acceptable behavior... as if it changes anything anyway?
Even if A.I. is a threat you need to understand a threat in order to cope with it. And this one could be an opportunity to get off Basic Assistance - the fate of many in a possible future. But then some people are stumped by a flat tire or the timer on a VCR.
