It is getting old!
We keep having the forecast rain fail to appear. Then when there's no rain forecast, we get pop-up thunderstorms. There was no rain forecast for today, and now there's a warning (not a watch) that 60MPH+ winds and hail is headed my way...all out of nowhere.

Constant rain had been forecast for Thursday through this evening. We got nothing on Thursday. Then that line of storms came through last night, but they mostly missed me. I got up this morning and rain was forecast for this evening, then around 11AM all heck broke loose. It's pretty much over with, then more showers at 8PM.I believe the phrase “yes I guess not “ applies. ^^^^^
My area is turning into a crispy critter. We could use some of the excess rain that further north is receiving.
My brother lives below Lake Erie. While the worst of the storms missed him, they did get a good supply of rain. I could sure use some of that rain. They have not issued a burn band in my county yet, but if we don’t get some rain, they will.
We are under a heated advisory again today. Starting Monday we will have a cool down. That means the temperatures in the low 90s.![]()
Our drought was so severe and ongoing that my neighbor's garden produced very little. They brought me a Sampler Pak the other day, but it was nowhere near the volume of years past.Weather has turned almost to an Alaska summer minus the long days. Temps reached the low 70s F. yesterday and only dropped to 50 overnight. the stuff in the gardens that survived the 26 and 28 lows may yet produce more. We'll have to wait and see.
My state has a standing Open Air Burn Ban before 4PM every day from Feb 15 and Apr 30. There are additional restrictions depending on how close the fire is to woods and dry grass. My county issued a burn ban today, until further notice.
That also means grilling outside is not encouraged since an electrical spark from a power line started a fast spreading fire in another county today.
