Exercise, Walking, Etc.

Yeah, I have an elliptical that also needs to go. Unfortunately the elliptical and the treadmill are both upstairs. I don't think my husband and I can handle them to get them down the stairs and loaded in the truck to haul off. I know we carried them up there but that was years ago.
I was wondering if there is a thrift store somewhere that would pick it up. The one we need to get rid of is not up stairs, but it is in a back bedroom.
I have a tv mounted in front of the treadmill, so it is relatively painless for me to walk a distance. My wife cannot use it as it makes her hips hurt. I know a guy who used to train on a treadmill my running a couple miles a day. He had to have both knees replaced and the doc told him it was most likely due to extensive use of the treadmill. In cold snowy climates, one has to do something as we age. Youngest son tells us we should move to a warmer climate as it would likely add years to our life. Wife and I could never agree on a place to move, so that may be unlikely. I think son really just wants us to move someplace warm so he has someplace to visit that would be free.:)

In the summer here, I walk outside too, but during the winter, the ice and snow make longer walks difficult. It is easy to use, though and has handrails to keep me from falling should I lose my balance.

I'm sure it can be unbearable, same as the heat here at times, and cold too when it is extreme.

At one time, I had an elliptical, stationary bike, and a treadmill. I hung clothes on them after the novelty of it wore off. 🙄 We ended up taking it all to a consignment auction. We have a recreation center I can go to if I want to use any of those things. It also has an indoor walking area. It is free to seniors, well sorta, if your insurance covers it.

We had empty bedrooms once 5 kids moved out, so I have had an "exercise room" for over 20 years. I have a lot of equipment in that room, and a TV with a DVD player. It's a nice setup but I never go in there anymore and I'd like to get rid of most of that stuff.

I guess I need to investigate whether any organization would pick them up; maybe the Salvation Army would come get them.

I just don't like the "feel" of a treadmill. It is not a natural gait for me somehow. I have several Leslie Sansone exercise videos that are basically walking in place that I much prefer to a treadmill.

I think the Salvation Army would love to have them.

We like walking down the beach when it’s not to windy , there are days you feel like you are are in a sandblasting machine

Our council is in the process of constructing a very nice walking path along one of our main..ish roads about a 150 mtr walk from our front door , they’ve done a good job as they had to dig out huge limestone rocks and level off areas to do the sealed paths and construct very high retaining walls where they removed some areas ..it’s very neat …..we’ve not seen the completed path yet due to being away from home for my birthday trip ( home tomorrow ) …but the job looks. Very neat from photos our neighbour sent

The new path joins up,with one to,the beach ..and one towards town…..so at the end of the street if we turn right we are a short walk from the beach ….left if we want to walk 3 + km into town …the path will have lines painted on it by now

Here's an easy way to get started, so try this. (10 minute video)

This is what I do on my mini trampoline, too. I never have my feet off of the net, I just bounce , and even that does not take much to tire me out anymore.
The vibration plate also helps me to exercise and drain my lymph glands to help with swelling, and I am more apt to use that than the rebounder. It has been so cold the last couple of months, and we don’t keep the back rooms warm during the day, so I have not even used the vibration plate as much as before, but now the weather is getting warmer, and I am going to start using it again.
The vibration plate does so many good things besides just an exercise workout , since it helps drain lymph and promotes oxygen in muscles that you do not even know you are using .

Is the vibration plate on the trampoline or separate?
