Atheism?

I don't find much in that video for the case for or against atheism. To me (an agnostic), a person either believes in God or they don't. I have no issue with other people's beliefs or lack of because I struggle with my own.

I do believe there is a higher power of some kind. I just don't believe in Bible stories that seem more like fables to me. (And I mean NO offense to the true believers among us.)

I find many good reasons in this video to think that God is a human creation. I believe that God does not exist though of course I can't prove that no type of God exists. The way God is described seems inconsistent with what science, philosophy have learned in the last thousand years.

But this is where "faith" comes into play. So many things exist but have no proof of existence, but we have faith that they are there.

Even if you know the universe started from a spark and a big bang, Who lit the dust with the spark? Where did the dust and spark come from?

Its interesting.. Alot of Athiest/Agnostic people are very open minded.. i wonder if its because they dont follow a fake religion?

A funny line from "Three's Company"
Chrissy's father (who played a reverend) came by the apartment to visit his daughter. At first he got angry that his daughter was living with a male roommate in addition to another female, then he was OK with it after he became convinced there was nothing sexual going on.
Then Chrissy's boyfriend showed up for his date & he got mad when he found out Chrissy had a male roommate.
Chrissy assured him nothing was going on. The boyfriend asked the Reverend, "Reverend, do you believe nothing is going on?"
"Sure," he replied. "I also believe in the parting of the Red Sea."

Moses did part the Red Sea. He used a very big magical comb to do it.

It’s not necessarily a ha-ha funny but funny nonetheless that no matter how “smart” AI is, it cannot fathom what the creator, humans, truly are.
AI has no relative concept that will lead it to understand how it actually came to be much more so the humans that created it but I do have to give AI credit in that it knows we exist even if it doesn’t understand nor can conceive of a reasonable explanation for that existence.

Beth hits on the key word and that is faith. Different faiths have different concepts of a high human like power or the existence of a humanlike God.

No one can deny the Universe is endless and no one can conceive that it has no beginning or end. it is forever. The universe rules life on earth and if one doesn't believe a deity or super spirit power is calling every move in the all powerful universe, that doesn't make them an atheist, as is commonly thought, but a believer in an undeniable super power that is everywhere and the essence of life.

No one can deny the power of the universe, nor can explain how it can be without boundaries. Our human minds have boundaries. No one can explain what is beyond the outer universe as we know it, other than nothingness. What is beyond the nothingness, more nothingness?

Whether one believes or disbelieves that Moses parted the Red Sea or Jesus walked on top of the water, doesn't make anyone greater or lesser.

The only problem I have with any religion, church, or belief, is if it is being forced on me. If members of a church or religious organization invade my privacy or in any way try to force their beliefs on me, we are going to have a problem. It gets me riled if they don't consider my beliefs founded on personal experience as being of any value. I let any young religious solicitor know that I am not only totally secure, but also an elder in my beliefs, and their church bible study indoctrination, doesn't impress me. Get your heaven away from my door before all hell breaks loose. :sneaky:

God is the only thing without a beginning and an end. God is outside of time and space. God exists and existed without them. The universe had a beginning. We cannot catch up with it's end.

Deuteronomy 6:16: "Do not put the Lord your God to the test, as you tested him at Massah." The SBL Study Bible: New Revised Standard Version Updated Edition.

Why is a rule saying "do not put God to the test" created, promulgated in the first place ?

Most likely because God has been "put to the test" many times and failed many times, so guardrails have to be put in place to "protect" God from disconfirmation.

Why does the allegedly most powerful being in the cosmos need "protection" ?

Because He suffers from the most severe disability that any being can suffer from: nonexistence.
