We will probably be seeing more about the celebrations being planned for this summer, so I am starting a thread for this very special Independence Day celebration for our country.
One of the things I have been reading is that new paper money coming out will have President Trump’s signature on it, and maybe for more than just this year, I am not sure how long it lasts.

Today is the President’s 80th birthday ………Happy Birthday, President Trump !
We are having more celebrations for both the 250th anniversary and the president’s birthday at the White House today.

I am patriotic and look forward to the July 4 celebrations. I need to get our flag out and see if it's still in acceptable condition to fly.

As for Trump, I hope he has a happy healthy birthday. But I am really tired of his ego and putting his name on every thing in Washington. I'm actually glad to see them taking "Trump" off of Kennedy Center. Not everything belongs to him, and it's tiresome and irritating to me that he is so pompous and egotistical. Is he going to try to rename the entire country before his term is up? Will I be living in the United States of Trump? So ridiculous.

It is also Flag day too!🇺🇸

I can't believe how many celebrities refuse or have backed out of participating in the celebration of our 250th anniversary of this country. Especially, when they are Americans. Even with all the problems America may have, I think it is still the best country to live in. If it wasn’t, why would others try to come live here?

I agree , it has maybe gone overboard, but not all of them were done by the president. Governors and other heads of companies have made some of those decisions.
But we do not need his name on everything, including all of the $100 bills.
However, I prefer it over the LGBTQ stuff that Biden was doing at the White House and in every national celebrations planned day; so there is that consideration.

It is still or will be again a pretty good place to work, raise a family and retire. All you have to do is go through the numbers of the monthly visa bulletin on travel.state.gov.

To me it seems like a lot of performers or personalities are coming out of the woodwork to have a minute of fame. Peddle your trade and stay in your swim lane please.

Anyone planning a big July 4th celebration to celebrate America's 250th Anniversary? I'm just glad America has made it to, to 250 years of Independence. Let Freedom ring!🔔

We have nothing special planned, and will probably carry on as usual during the 4th. If it doesn't rain, we will probably grill either some steaks or burgers. My husband thinks he has to have potato salad every time a holiday rolls around. He loves his tater salad. I will have to go to the store to hunt and gather all ingredients sometime this week. I might bake an apple pie too.

Fireworks have started last night in the neighborhood already. I heard some of the neighbors shooting fireworks for an hour after I went to bed last night.😬

Much of it is Trump's ego, but some is also his attempt to upset his opponents. He loves making the mainstream media go berserk over stupid stuff.

I don't know if it's ego or if it's provocation. Perhaps it's both.

The town I lived in for 45+ years did fireworks every year. It was within walking distance of home (maybe a little under a mile.) Every few years I ordered the "good stuff" from Illinois to shoot off at home and provoke the local cops. I was also close to DC but never went there to see them.

I've been here for 16 years and have not felt like fighting the crowds to drive to any of the displays. Here in the sticks folks around me put on displays (I can hear them), but I'm too far down the hollow to really see any of them. I often watch the DC fireworks on PBS. Some of that ceremony brings back memories, as my older brother was in the Army Band (he played trombone and herald trumpet) and they always perform at these events.

It is amazing that our form of government has lasted this long. Most don't.

The local celebration included fire works last night and it ended up as fire. Fire fighters got the situation fairly quickly under control.

Fireworks are dangerous. Just a few days ago, an explosion of fireworks in a house on Whidbey Island caused multiply houses to burn down and some fire fighters were injured.

We're under drought conditions here (although we've had a little rain.) I wonder if fireworks won't get called off. I've seen it once or twice in the 60+ years I've lived in the state. I had a small grass fire almost get out of hand in the early Spring several years ago well before the heat set in. I goofed up and an errant wood stove ember caught my yard on fire. It was surreal how fast it spread in an open grassy yard. I guess the thatch was dry.

A neighbor burned his house down. Cleaned up spent fireworks and pushed the trashcan under the overhang of the house.

And Biden's satanic goat head in the White House at Christmas time.

My flag keeps twirling itself around the flag pole till the stars are concealed. : (
Fortunately people are not setting off fire works. I hope it is because they understand drought conditions we are in. I only heard one set go off the other night. Usually they would have gone off for a couple of weeks already.
We are going out with friends on the second (Thursday) not the 4th this year.

700# of fireworks is borderline terrorist intent. Were they selling locally prohibited stuff? Virginia has always had some tight rules. Folks used to drive to a place called South of the Border in South Carolina, where freedom still exists, and buy "real" fireworks to take back home. I got stories...
