Most First World countries have made it very difficult or impossible for retirees. Let’s not go into socialized medical coverage. So we will batten the hatches and stock up on wine, whine and cat food. I will not pull out the Morning Glories despite of their color.

Putting in 4 socialists will help them. The head of Iran just congratulated them on the 'collapse' of our country.
 
I'm surprised she lost, too, because I thought she'd get votes from the more reasonable Democrats who have voted for her in the past, but I guess there aren't enough reasonable Democrats in Maine to make up for the Republicans who are happy to be rid of her, but not happy with her replacement. A large number of Republicans in Maine have never liked her, although most held their noses and voted for her, while others stayed home or wrote other names in.

Honestly, Collins is another fossil that has surpassed her expiration date. I have read some of her statements after she lost the election and she's certainly tossing the blame on everyone except herself. Go home, grannie.

I didn't know what the context was, and there was also the idea that competent people can usually handle their own stuff. Unless it's someone I like, I don't generally come to the defense of others. I might come to the defense of a child, but unless there's a reason to think otherwise, I consider adults to be at least as capable as I am.

I don't understand what this post is in reference to, but I will say that if a person is in public political life, they can expect to be the subject of ridicule and even lies. Witness the electioneering this year. I saw ads that I know for a fact were outright lies.

They could be challenged but by the time they were even challenged, the election would have long been over.

I guess assumed since I posted in a Trump thread , and he does the vary thing I mentioned, that it would not need a lot of explanation. I would not let anyone, regardless of their title,belittle, humiliate and publicly berate a person, without some sort of retribution. I brought this up because Trump does this almost daily, and get away with it.
 
As much as I'd like to believe that President Trump is responsive to our needs, I don't think he'd take my calls, let alone allow me to influence what he says about other people who wouldn't take my calls either. Besides, the mainstream media and the rest of the Democrat Party has the backs of anyone the president might criticize. They don't need me.
